What if I put antifreeze in my 1997 Dodge ram 1500 p/u and when I looked under my vehicle, antifreeze was coming out of an area behind the fan. My radiator is not leaking, bottle not leaking, and do not have a hole in the radiator hose.

Leaking antifreeze from the fan pully. is the fan pully the water pump

Hi,
The water pump will be directly behind the fan pulley. The fan pulley mounts onto the water pump shaft. So no the fan pulley is not the water pump.

2004 dodge 1500 cabin air filter

the cabin air filter is located on the passenger side of the cowl. after opening the hood, remove the windshield wipers and the black covering ( 2 small T-30 screws, and a few body grommets). after you remove the cowl there will be a grey accordion looking filter in the cowl, remove that and replace with the new filter.

Location of coolant drain **** on 1997, ram,5.9, 1500

Have a look up under frame (rad support) for a hole in there where drain is accessible. Sometimes on side of rad, at bottom as well, or on engine side down low, on passenger side usually. They are really getting to be a pain to access now, and that's why I keep a good size drain pan around, and simply loosen off clamp on lower rad hose if it's easier to access, and slowly remove it to drain rad. When done, slide it back on good, tighten clamp, and double check it for leaks after vehicle runs for a while. Good Luck.
P.S. Don't forget, any spillage on driveway or wherever of antifreeze should be cleaned up in case of an animal/pet in area, as it can be very inviting to them, and it can cause them a slow painful death if ingested.

When i run my 1996 dodge ram 1500 it smells like antifreeze. i had the head changed but it smells like antifreeze. what could be the problem?

check the coolant level to see if it has dropped. Then look under the engine, for any leaks.Look for pools of coolant on top of the engine,or run down on the sides of the engine. Then look for radiator hoses, ans heater hoses that are leaking. If you are loosing antifreeze ,and you are sure the coolant is going somewhere, you may sill have a head,or head gasket, that are bad.If it has not been long before the head change, then the antifreeze may be still present in the exhaust,or on the engine,so you may have to wait a little longer for smell to disapate.Cleaning the engine can help.

2004 ram 1500 with 5.7 hemi using 1 quart every 3,000 miles

Slide a large piece of cardboard under the truck after driving for ten minutes note in which area directly above the spot on the cardboard the oil is coming from then get under the vehicle with a drop light to look for the origin of the leak, if no leak is detected then it may be the engine is burning oil this could either be valve stem seals or broke or worn oil rings.

1999 Dodge Ram 1500 Fan Motor Resistor Location

I've never seen a vehicle w/o a blower resistor. You don't need to remove the blower. The resistor is about 2 inches x 3 inches and is installed in a hole in the plenum (duct) near the blower motor. It will have a wiring harness connected to it. It could be under the passenger dash or under the hood, depending on where the blower motor is.
