Transmission I was driving home when my 2006 pontiac G6 had a small **** at a stop sign when I pressed the gas it would not go forward but it would go in reverse does this mean I need a new transmission or bands replaced?

Do a computer diagnostics, may be your oxygen sensors in anti
pollution system malfunctioned. some of these computer assisted models do this to attract attention to E.P.A. standards

Location of the Horn on a pontiac G6

Remove the drivers headlight housing (remove obvious screws on top of housing and then pull the assembly straight forward with moderate force (needed to dislodge from a small ball joint that is not visible)). When the headlight housing is pulled, you will see the horn clear as day below.

My trans went out totally at 109,000 miles on my 2006 G6 GTP (4 speed auto). Although it was a GM Certified, warrantied to 100,000 miles, GM service told me that "There was nothing that they could do for me:. Cost = $ 2,000 installed for a rebuilt.

Transmission Fluid. Pontiac G6. 2006

The trannsmission is a sealed unit and there is no dipstick. Check to see if you have a leak. More than likely it sounds like your low on fluid at least a 1/2 to a whole quart. Since these are sealed units it should be taken to the dealership to have looked at. If there is not any leaks then I would add 1/2 qt of tranny fluid and try driving so see if it helped. If it helped a little but the same problems are still there add another 1/2 qt. If it doesnt solve the problem then your tranny needs to be looked at.
