The only place for parts is from Saturn or any GM dealer. I would have them diagnose it first, you dont want to make a $3-500 guess.

2002 Suburban_ Engine off but air stays on. When engine is on a/c light stays on & ait stays on even if the fan is turned off

Fan will run for a certain period of time after shutting down motor of vehicle. This is normal. Your engine is still hot when you turn the key off. There are sensors that tell the computer when the engine is cool enough for the fans to shut off.

The fan should shut down after the radiator temperature is between 180-195 degrees. If yours is staying on way below this I would think you temp. sensor is stuck and keeping your fan on.

2002 Mazda Milenia. Coolant level ok. In heavy traffic or at idle it runs on the hot side. Also my AC stops cooling

Troubleshoot your radiator fans. Could be the main one failed. The AC booster would have a hard time keeping engine and AC cool for more than a few mins.
Check the under hood electrical box. Fuse, relay. Possible the fan motor itself. Unplug it at the wire connector and jump 12 volts to it. No go, replace fan motor.

I noticed two days ago that the a/c cooling system was not cooling as it should. Drove it for a short time yesterday - same experience. Today after driving about 10 minutes in stop and go traffic -...

Sounds as if the electric fan on the radiator isn't coming on. Most radiator shops also work with A/C systems and may be more qualified to do the work. However, any good "normal" repair shop should also be able to diagnose the problem. Try not to drive it very far and keep close watch on the engine temperature. An overheat can do extensive (expensive) engine damage. If you have a fill cap on the radiator, fill it there (when cooled down) filling the recovery bottle may not be sufficient to get coolant into the engine.

Fans stay on

Well, it really sounds like you don't have enough reserve power in the battery. You ought to be able to run that fan for 20 minutes, but still start the car. But that is a different topic.

If the switch is old, the points might be ever so lightly welding themselves together from arcing when the fan is needed. Then the switch needs to cool more than it otherwise would to pull the contacts apart.

I would replace the fan switch in the radiator before doing anything else.

That fan runs from time to time even when the coolant is not overheated. It is designed to prevent overheating, not to correct overheating once it occurs (though it will do that too, if it comes to that).

It just died while driving yesterday. the battery

the fan you are refuring to i assume is the radiator cooling fan, YES ti does matter. if you where not looking at the temperature gauge it may have overheated.but.i find that people use different tems to describe things=turn over, does this mean you dont hear anything operating= starter motor,or does this mean you hear the naormal sound made when you turn the key but the engine does not run? if you hear nothing you will need to find out if it is a dead battery or the starter is not working. if the starter is working the you first must find out whether the spark plugs are recieving current, does it have fuel to the injectors at the correct pressure,do the injectors operate correctly when the engine is turning elevtrically.and the computer system tested. a car is extemely complicated.that is why sometimes it can be quite expensive to fix.the timing belt being broken ussually causes the engine to to quite a bit faster than usual when trying to start it.but a lot of things need to be tested. the belt can be seen by moving the timing cover back a little to se if it is at least turning. but unless you are comfortable doing extensive repairs. call around and have it towed to arepair shop.

Eletric fan stays on after ignition is shut off

If this is running for a few minutes after shut down, this is normal. If it continues to run long after that there is an issue with the CTS (Coolant Temperature Sensor) circuit or its controlling relay.

2002 Chevrolet Impala overheating while idling

the thermostates on the 3400 engines are late because the fans kick in at the last moment. if you run your ac on you will notice that the gauge stays in front of the half mark or right on the half mark. that is because when you turn on your ac your fans will kick in earlier and stay on the whole time the ac is on. if you run your car with the heat on or nothing on that leaves the late thermostate to kick in verus you turning on your ac and it by passes the thermostates and runs the fans once the engine gets at at lest 120 deg. i use to have a 2002 and i had the same problem. this will keep your engine cooler. also if you don't want your air on just turn on your windshield defrosters (not the back windshield) and that helps keep your engine cool because your defrosters use your air compressor which is really your ac. so it still kicks the fans on earlier.
