Have 97 gmc suburban. Has a jerk to it when I'm crusein on highway and from time to time seems as if im hitting a bunch of little bumps an it boggs down. I let off gas it stops what could this b?

Could be the fuel filter. Watch the speed it happens. IE.. Ok at 50 MPH, hit 60 MPH it starts jerking. Clogged filers will give the pressure need, just not the volume of fuel need at higher speeds.

When truck is cold starts up fine after driving and stopping try to start i have to hold gas pedal to floor it wil start but i have to rev it up to put in gear.

Does it idle rough or have a low idle went the engine is hot? Check the fuel pressure regulator on the drivers side of the engine. It will be about in the middle of the fuel rail. It will have a small vacuum hose attached to it. Remove the hose and see if gas comes out of the regulator. If it does replace the regulator. If the regulator is dry than check for vacuum leaks around the intake plenum.

I hear a rattling sound when I am traveling at over 40 mph on the highway. The sound seems to becoming from behind the driver side dashboard. I have looked under the dash and in the engine compartment but...

I had a similar problem on my 2007 RX350 and it was from the plastic gas tank protective cover under the SUV. There is a small portion of the cover that extends forward beside the gas tank, and usually has a rubber piece attached to it to stop it from hitting the floor under the car. The rubber had come of mine so I had to replace the rubber. This stopped it from hitting the bottom of the car at higher speeds. Worth taking a look at?

1992 GMC Suburban not shifting into OD, Transmission Modulator?

The shift down linkage on the carburetor below the gas pedal cable might need to be adjusted to increase the hydraulic pressure on the internal clutch plates in the transmission it shows you how to do that in a car manual.

Not shifting into passing gear

hi passing gear is actually your transmision drpping down to second gear.if you hit the gas hard.if you hit the gas lightly it will only drop out of overdrive and go into third and not go into passing gear.

PUT THE PEDEL TO THE FLOOR AND IT GOES NO WHERE

Sounds like a vacuum leak problem or maybe fuel pump/filter.
