The resistor pack is located behind the glovebox, mounted to the blower motor.

Blower motor works only on hight speed

Most heater fans have a resister built into the wiring and connection block on the actual casing. High fan speed=full voltage, Mid speed=small resister, Slow fan speed=large resister. Change the resister block. Pete

The fan does not work on 1&2 speeds and works on 3&4 speeds. (The heater ,A/C fan)

It could be the switch... but its most likely the heater resister. It is located by the heater motor.

What the resistance does on top of the heater does it just tell the temperature?? it was find this moning and now i got no heat would it be my thermostat?

Assuming you mean the resistor on top of the fan motor ... That resistor controls the fan speed. Highest runs direct current to the fan, lower settings throttle the current down via the resistor.
If you mean the thermosensor on the engine coolant area, high resistance is cold, low is hot.

Fan does not work in position 1 2 3 works great in position 4

From the scenario that you have just described; more than likely your blower motor resistor pack has failed. On the highest setting, the blower motor will have no resistance from the resistor pack allowing the motor to turn the fan at full speed; however, on the lower speeds, the different resistors are what create your different speeds by varying resistance in the electrical circuit.

I have a 1999 Jeep Wrangler and the heater fan stopped working for all the fan speeds. The fuses are fine. How do you know if it is the blower resistor or the blower motor?

If you bypass the resistor pack and connect the motor directly to the fused 12v supply then the fan should run at maximum speed. If so, it's the resistor pack that's blown: a very common fault on a huge number of makes and models.

The blower for the ac/heat only works on the highest setting. The 1,2,&3 settings don't work.

Sounds like the blower motor resister is bad, it regulates the speeds of the blower motor, it should be located somewear around the blower motor, 2 screws hold it in the heater box and it has a electrical plug to it.

The fan/blower only works on the high setting.

It probably is the fan switch itself. They are around $30. for a new one. You can take it out and check to see if you have power to all the settings with a ohm meter or test light. They are not real hard to take out.

Fan switch only works on the two highest settings

the various speeds are controlled through resisters (spring-like in apperance) one of different value for each speed, none for highest speed as the power gets to the blower uninpeeded . the resistor pack should be located on the center of the firewall, held by 2 screws. thats under the hood. where the engine bay ends....

A/C and Heater Only works on the highest speed

The blower motor resister is bad...It is very common in chevy trucks. The resister is located behind the glove box and is held in place by two screws, it will also have a wire harness attached to it. If you want to see a picture of it go to www.partsamerica.com and search for the blower motor resister.
