Owners manual should say. but car should see a mechanic every 3-5 thousand miles. that mechanic should look at your mileage and find what the manufacturer recommends being done at that time. if you do your own maintenance and you think 30k is not enough miles on the transmission oil and it still "looks clean" and you reach 150k thinking the same thing. dont call the car bad names when you are walking. save fifty bucks to spend 3-5k later on a new tranny it just doesnt make sense. if you do your own maintenance look up for that specific mileage what needs to be done. just do it. it is not too much when u do it yourself. the dealer cost money. a tune up is really not supposed to be done all at once. tune ups where more from the 50s, 60s, 70s, nowadays we use recommended service intervals. 5k service - oil and filter 10 service- oil and filter, air filter, 15k service- oil and filter, fuel filter etc 20 oil filter air 25 oil filter coolant power steering oil 30 oil filter, fuel, trans
just a example it is way off. but just treat your car right. generally less than 300 a year and car will last forever.

What are the tune up specs for a 2000 olds sillhoette

Need to explain

Tune-ups left some 25 years ago,even though
shops advertise & talk about it & pitch that non sense

Today's vehicles require spark plugs to
be changed, everything else is done by computer
& has been for 33 years

The only exception is a few vehicles with an ignition
distributor & obviously you clean the cap & rotor

Do you not have a repair shop you take vehicles to?

You need to separate tune-up from the many things
that are covered under Preventative Maintenance

I personally treat all vehicles the same

Today I mostly go by time in years & seldom worry
about mileage ,other then motor oil

You need to road test all vehicles a few times a year with
a scan tool & look at data, just as you go to a doctor for
a check up

While I was having my fuel pump replaced it was suggested that I get a tune up the next month I had a tune up now it won't start . Had a bad bank on the coil pack replaced it now no spark ??

No tune-up on your vehicle, only preventative maintenance

Vehicle Computers have been tuning things for the last 30 years

All you got left there is Spark Plugs

Treat all vehicles the same- as for as maintenance goes

Can't tell you a thing without the vehicle to test, you should know that

Can a minor tune up be done in your back yard

I have no idea what a minor or major tune-up is
& I have 49 years of vehicle experience
Vehicles made in the last 25 years or more
only have spark plugs, that used to be part of a tune-up,
back in the day,1980's & before.
Your back yard has nothing to do with your knowledge
or skills
You either know what to do or where to get your
reference material BEFORE you start working on
a vehicle or your don't.
Your asking about Vehicle Preventative Maintenance
You need to do that somewhere on all vehicles a couple
times a year

After receiving a tune up on my 4.2 cylinder 2003 Trailblazer 1 ignition coil is misfiring. It wasn't before the tune up. Why

There is little to tune up on this vehicle which would affect the ignition coil. The vehicle's ECU manages tuning functions.
Try replacing the ignition coil. This will not likely be an issue caused by regular maintenance unless the coil or wiring was damaged when attempting to remove the vehicle's spark plugs or leads.

I have 1991 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera, I am trying to do the turn up by my self. But I am not to sure What the turn up consist of. Can You please help?

If you are referring to a "tune-up", then for a complete tune-up for your vehicle you will need to replace the ignition wires (spark plug wires), spark plugs, air filter, the fuel filter, and also the pcv valve. There is no distributor in your vehicle so that is all that a complete tune-up for your vehicle will consist of. Here is a firing order diagram for both engines that were available for that vehicle to help assist you replace the ignition wires, and let me know if you require any further assistance.

2.5 Liter Engine

3.3 Liter Engine

Hyundai sonata 2003 v6 what do i need for a tune up.

A tune up is generic. i don'y have specific part numbers or anything, but a tune-up generally consists of:
Spark Plug replacement (6 of them)
Spark Plug Wire replacement (6 of them)
Fuel filter replacement
Air filter replacement
On older vehicle, one would check all the components that involve spark, such as distributor cap & rotor. You might not have these, yours may be computerized, no service required until it fails.
A tune up would also include a review of all recommended service items as noted in your owners manual. Some of these might be mileage related. Such as, timing belt & transmission fluid replacement.
I normally do not do tune-up's unless the vehicle is having a problem. If you end up taking your vehicle to a mechanic to diagnose a problem, he will suggest many of these items before beginning his diagnosis.
