Could be a thermostat problem if it is stuck open or none in engine. also check your water valve to see if it is working properly. Might need a system flush as sometimes the heater core will clog over time. as for the rear defroster, 3 things to check. first turn on rear defroster and check for voltage to window. if no voltage check fuse and switch.

Check fuses (cheap), blower switch/resistor (about 20 bucks), blower(about 50 bucks).

Car trouble

I would start here first....

The "inertia switch" which shuts off fuel to the engine in the event of a collision or jolt on a 1991 through 1996 models, as well as on 1998 coupes, is located in the rear of the vehicle, near the right (passenger's side) strut tower. On sedan and coupe models, open the trunk and remove the right-sided trim panel. On sedan and coupe models, open the trunk and remove the right-side trim panel. On hatchback and wagon models, there may be an access door secured by clips. On some models you may need to remove the lower quarter trim panel on the right side, however it is easier to cut an access hole directly above the switch.

No heat after changing thermostat.

remove the heater core lines the two hoses that go to the heater core, take a splice tube either metal our plastic your part store will have either one. take the splice tube and install it in one of the lines add some hose to that tube make the hose long enough to run out side of the engine compartment and on to the ground. take the other hose and install a flushing tee, hook up to a garden hose and trun the water on . what you are trying to do is flush the heater core , you are also looking for blockage off the heater core, if you little to no flow i would suggest replaceing the heater core
