Question about Volkswagen Jetta
There is a small push button switch somewhere in the door jamb which is pushed in and made an electrical open when you close your driver door and makes an electrical close when the door is open. You need to find that switch and replace it. A dealer will be the place to buy the switch, it should be cheap contrasted to other VW parts and is the kind of part which will not be available in a parts store. They generally screw in and out or snap in and out, when you have the new one in your hand you will see how it connects. If you are not mechanical you may want to ask if they can put it in for you for 20 bucks. If your interior lights work with all the other door switches then your problem is at that door switch.
