Make sure it is a 50/50 mixture and only fill it up to the "Fill" mark.

What happen when you put coolant in and dont mix 50/50?

Coolant comes either ready mixed or concentrated, concentrated needs to be mixed with water and ready mixed can be filled as is into the vehicle! Do you know what type of coolant you have used?

How many gallons of coolant does the northstar engine hold?

Coolant should be mixed in most cases to a 50% concentration, meaning one gallon of undiluted coolant will provide two gallons of diluted coolant. Most engines will hold 2-3 gallons of coolant mix. I normally purchase two gallons of undiluted coolant. I pour the first gallon of undiluted coolant into the radiator, then fill the empty bottle with water and add that to the radiator as well to make it a 50% mix.. Then, I pour half the second bottle of undiluted coolant into the empty coolant bottle, and then top both off with water to make two gallons of 50% mix. I then add coolant to the radiator as needed until full, keeping the remainder for topping off later as air purges itself form the system.

Car blows out cold air but steam out the bottle

I would install a new thermostat. The only way to check a thermostat is to heat it up in a pot of water on the stove and make sure it opens and closes. Make sure it's in the right way, and make sure the radiator is full. You may have to loosen a heater hose to get the air out of the system. I usually let them warm up with the cap off to make sure it's all "burped" out. Once you have everything full if it still overheats, you may have a water pump problem. Squeeze your rad hose right shut if you can. When you release it, you should feel a gush of coolant go through it. If you don't, your water pump may be no good, and will have to be replaced.

I have a mitsubishi lancer 2002. The coolant reservoir tank is empty. Radiator is full. I just need to add coolant to reservoir. Do i add straight coolant or does it need to be a 50/50 water/coolant mix?

It is best to add a coolant mix. You can get it ready mixed, but try to ascertain if your car now has in it green mix or red mix. It is best not to mix these 2 mixes LOL
If you cannot make out what is in there now, just add demineralised water.

What kind of coolant should be used for the 1998 Oldsmobile Regency?

By 1998 General Motors was using Dexcool. Stick with whatever color coolant you have in the vehicle if your just topping up. If flushing the system you may refill it with either dexcool or conventional coolant. Although I believe the rec. coolant for your vehicle is dexcool which is a pinkish color.

Engine is overheating and I need to put coolant in, what coolant do I use and where to I put it?

A 91 should have regular green coolant. Make sure to read the label on the bottle. Sometimes it is premixed and some times you need to mix it yourself. If you have to mix it your self you will use 1/2 coolant and 1/2 water.

You can add it directly into the radiator through the radiator cap. Make sure the engine is cold before you remove the radiator cap!. Once the radiator is full you can top off the overflow container. It should be on the passenger side of the car near the battery. It will be the white bottle with a black hose going into it.

Do not mistake this with the washer bottle. The washer bottle will have the blue cap.

Do i put water or coolant in a toyota cressida 1989?

You need to find the rad cap in the front of the car or the white plastic bottle that is near it.Once the engine is cold you can take off the cap or open the plastic bottle cap and add coolant to either of these locations,i suggest coolant but if you don't have the option put in water and then replace it with coolant later(before the next freeze). If you ever add water to the cooling system you will need to check it with an hydrometer to see where the freeze point is and then drain down the system some if required and add straight antifreeze.

What type of antifreeze coolant do i use for a saturn sl

use a premixed solution 50 / 50 you can buy at any discount autoparts store like Autozone, Walmart, Kragens...

You can also use a longlife product from any manufacturer, just try to stay at that 50 / 50 mix unless you live where the winters are very cold tehn try a 70 / 30 mix coolant to water ratio... please rate my help, thanks
