Question about 2008 Chevrolet Equinox

Open Question

Just Had my 2008 Equinox tires rotated and filled to 30psi. Before rotation LF was 28 and RF was 29 both rear tires were at 30. Now all four tires are showing 39 psi through TPMS. car has 17800 miles on it. What gives

first thing to do, go with the replacement of the light bulbs, high beam and low beam are two different fillaments on the ligh bulb, as for the rear also replace the bulbs, when your flasher rellay flashes faster, it means that there is less drop of current in the circuit, like only one light bulb working.

Does the gauge agree with all the other tires? If the gauge is right then the sensor is wrong on the RF. I don't know how much effort you want to put into this, but you could rotate the RR into the front and see what the sensor says now.

have the rotors machined, shaking when braking is an indication of a warped rotor or drum, even though it may look ok, the rotor can still be warped, it would be a good idea to have the rotors/drums machined and new pads installed if the old ones are 4-5/32'nds or lower. that should take care of your shaking when braking issue

You have two minutes to match the first tire/wheel position, and five minutes overall to match all four tire/wheel positions. If it takes longer than two minutes, to match the first tire and wheel, or more than five minutes to match all four tire and wheel positions the matching process stops and you need to start over.
The TPMS sensor matching process is outlined below:

  1. Set the parking brake.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to ON/RUN with the engine off.
  3. Press the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter's lock and unlock buttons at the same time for approximately five seconds. The horn sounds twice to signal the receiver is in relearn mode and TIRE LEARNING ACTIVE message displays on the DIC screen.
  4. Start with the driver side front tire.
  5. Remove the valve cap from the valve cap stem. Activate the TPMS sensor by increasing or decreasing the tire's air pressure for five seconds, or until a horn chirp sounds. The horn chirp, which may take up to 30 seconds to sound, confirms that the sensor identification code has been matched to this tire and wheel position.
  6. Proceed to the passenger side front tire, and repeat the procedure in Step 5.
  7. Proceed to the passenger side rear tire, and repeat the procedure in Step 5.
  8. Proceed to the driver side rear tire, and repeat the procedure in Step 5. The horn sounds two times to indicate the sensor identification code has been matched to the driver side rear tire, and the TPMS sensor matching process is no longer active. I Had the tires rotated on my 2008 mazda cx9 at 13,000 miles in our local shop here,then i noticed a humming sound coming from front of vehicle and only when it approaches 50 to 55 mph,could it possibly be...


The noise is most likely caused by the different wear pattern on the tire that came from the rear of the car. The difference in the alignment between the front and rear suspension systems causes the tires to wear accordingly. It will take some time for the tires to wear in to their new environment. The noise should go away gradually. You should also check your tire pressure to make sure you don't have an improperly inflated tire.

Hi I have a 2008 chevy Imple all four of the trieres have worn out on the inside and the left rear tire is worn down to the threads on the in side the mileage on the car is 57000


i would susppect a Alignment problem or even a worn out suspension part, i would start with new tires as you need them regardless and get an alignment, most of the tire wear is due to LACK of tire rotations and alignment checks. Start with that 1st , get new tires and an alignment check.

1992 toyota pick up extra cab, extra long deluxe... what should the tire pressure be?


The Manufacturer's recommended tire size and inflation decal should be in the door jamb below the latching mechanism on the driver's side door, but if it is not there, 29-30psi front 32-34psi rear. You can go with 32psi at all four corners. That is the pressure i run in my '85 Xtra Cab DLX and it works great.

Front right shakes when driving at speeds of 65 to 70. car has 183,000 mi now.


RF wheel out of balance probably - maybe lost a balance weight or tire close to failure (seperated belts) - rotate to rear (and rear to front) and see if shake moves with tire (steering stops shaking)....then you'll know...

TPMS Sensor Matching Procedure

Each TPMS sensor has a unique identification code. Any time you rotate your vehicle's tires or replace one or more of the TPMS sensors, the identification codes will need to be matched to the new tire/wheel position. The sensors are matched to the tire/wheel positions in the following order: driver side front tire, passenger side front tire, passenger side rear tire, and driver side rear tire using a TPMS diagnostic tool. See your dealer/retailer for service.

The TPMS sensors can also be matched to each tire/wheel position by increasing or decreasing the tire's air pressure. If increasing the tire's air pressure, do not exceed the maximum inflation pressure indicated on the tire's sidewall.

To decrease air-pressure out of a tire you can use the pointed end of the valve cap, a pencil-style air pressure gage, or a key.

Does the gauge agree with all the other tires? If the gauge is right then the sensor is wrong on the RF. I don't know how much effort you want to put into this, but you could rotate the RR into the front and see what the sensor says now.

Tire pressure light is on


You cannot reset them,Make sure that you check the pressures in the tires. The Infiniti Tire Pressure Monitoring System is designed to trip the warning light anytime the pressure in any of the tires drops below 29 psi. At 29 psi it really won't look like the tires are low. You could have one tire at 29 or 28 causing the light to stay on all the time. Check your pressures, set at 34 or 35 to be safe, or whatever pressure the tire is recommended to be. Not all infiniti vehicles with TPMS have the display that shows the pressure in each tire. If the pressures are above 29 psi, Then there could be an issue with one or more of the sensors. If you have the tires replaced you will have to have the sensors relearned at the dealer. Tire rotations do not require the same.
