How safe is it to drive a 2005 Grand Marquis with 123, 000 miles when the "engine light: keeps blinking on and off?

A blinking Check Engine Light indicates that you have a missfire on one or more cylinders. yYou really shouldn't drive it untill you get it fixed because this can cause damage to your Catalytic Converters, and they are VERY expensive to replace.

I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 2007(3.7),with 33,000 miles in it. The OBD-Code diagnose was P0430 B (Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold(Bank2). I change the 2 oxygen sensors on the...

If the diagnostic code wasn't cleared with a scan tool and thus turning off the engine light; it will stay on for this code until the engine computer no longer detects a problem. For emissions control parts that will take a predetermined number of warm up and run cycles, usually about 30.

In other words if the problem was fixed then your computer will clear the code and the engine light will shut off automatically. That is what your dealer service should have told you.

Serveral weeks ago my service engine light came on so I took my Endeavor to the dealer and they said it was randomly misfiring so I should replace the spark plugs. Since I was at 97,000 miles that seemed...

This code indicates that the catalytic converter is not working well enough. The dealer installed the plugs in hope that maybe the engine would run cleaner and not load the cat so much with new plugs installed. Bottom line, you need a new catalytic converter, but be sitting down when they give you the price. I would see if I could get warranty on this as it is mandatory in some areas.

1996 merc grand marq...check engine light stays on ....and the car accelerates wothout foot on the gas peddle???

nine times out of ten your check engine light means you need a new gas cap. as for your accellerater that could be a linkage issue , if you have a broken motor mount the engine will lean against the linkage . the harder it leans the faster it goes ... the faster it goes the harder it leans

2000 grand am bogs engine light flashes stays on for awhile then goes off

The flashing light is indicating an "over fueling" condition that can cause damage to the catalytic converter.
A defective or stuck injector is typically the root cause.
Take the vehicle to your local Auto Zone and ask to have the trouble codes read. Write the codes down and respond back to me, we can get started on fixing the issue.

Did you know Jeep did a recall and paid for replacement of catalytic converters on 1996 models (don't know about any others) - they reimbursed me for work done, up to a point - hope this helps!
