P0171 and P0174 are lean codes. There is likely a large vacuum leak or the MAF is bad.

Try starting the car and wiggling the connector for the MAF sensor. Also try tapping the MAF sensor. If the idle changes or the car stalls replace the MAF sensor.

The second shop should recognize that these codes don't have anything to do with the ignition module.

03 impala sputtering and has no power

when was the last time a tune up was done? fouled out spark plugs will make the car sputter and lose power. this is caused by a lack of efficient spark in the engine. try changing the spark plugs and possibly the wires if they are damaged or worn etc.

Is there something that i can do to get more horsepower on a 07 ss impala?

You can dyno tune your PCM to open up more usable HP. PCMforless is a good company that can tune your Impala for another 30% more HP with just the custom tune they have.

Sounds like it's time for a tune-up. Check the air filter first to be sure it is clean.
Could also be a fuel delivery issue, or spark plugs, or wires, air flow sensor...
You need to do more diagnosis to start ruling things out.

throttle position sensor was probbally cleaned improperly(it is ill advised to clean the intake sensors, but to no avail some mechanis think it can be done) you will now have to replace the throttle position sensor, let me know if this helps.
