Start checking grounding and go from there, did the truck come with the trailer light kit... Check the simple things grounding from rusty trailer hitch, wires, ball, etc.. but it does sound like a grounding issue. If you want to proceed with the fuse issue there is a MASTER fuse relay box under the hood of your truck, not in the cab of the truck... I dont think it is a fuse issue if your taillights are working.

I hope this advice helps and please don't forget to vote/rate my advice and if none of these are the issue reply to this post and we can go further into it with a little more description of the issues you are experiencing and find a solution.

Hi, this may true if you connected the trailer brake to the connector on the factory wiring harness. There are several fuses that are needed for trailer towing. In the box by the battery, fuses 13, 25, 27, 53, and 54 are needed. You will need a relay in relay slot 19 for the trailer running lights, a relay in relay slot 20 to charge the trailer emergency battery; and, if your trailer has backup lights (6 or 7 wire connector), you will also need a relay in the relay slot 15. If you did not use the factory connector for your trailer brake controller, check to make sure you have connected the controller to an appropriate power source in the truck. Please let me know if you have questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

Can't find backup light fuse for 2001 F350 ford pickup. It's not in the fuse panel box.

I suggest check in the Passenger Compartment Fuse Panel the position 28, 15AMP for Brake Shift Interlock, DRL Relay Coil, Speed Control Module, Backup Lamps, Trailer Tow Backup Lamp Relay Coil, Electronic Shift On The Fly Hub Lock Solenoid, Vacuum Pump Motor...

The fuse panel is located below and to the left of the steering wheel by the brake pedal. Remove the panel cover to access the fuses.

Hope this helps (remember to rate this answer).

2000 Ford F350. Fuse that runs trailer lights blew. Which one is it?

If you have the owners manual it will tell you, if you don't, the trailer fuses and relays are under the hood in the Black box on the drivers side. Check the fuses there.

Check fuse 28 in the fuse block under the left side of the dash. There is also a relay for the trailer park lamps in that same fuse block. The fuse and relay are the trailer parking lamps and run independantly of the vehicles parking lights. You can also try backprobing the other trailer plug (you should have one 7 pin and one 4 pin) to see if there is power at the park light pin. If there is power at the other trailer plug than the fuse and relay are bad and you may have a bad/corroded plug or bad wring to the plug that doesn't work.

Need fuse list for 2001 ford f350 trailer lights not working

In the fuse box under the hood, fuse in position 20 is a 7.5amp fuse for the trailer left turn circuit, fuse in position 22 is a 7.5 amp fuse for the right turn circuit, if the fuses are good and you have power at them it is going to be wiring, at the back of the truck close to the driver side at the bumper is a gray connector that will take factory wiring to you trailer wiring the yellow wire is left turn/brake light, the green wire is right turn/brake light, and the brown is tail lights, and the orange wire is 12volt feed for if there is a battery on the trailer that needs to be kept charged for break away safty brakes.
