This system is very complicated. If there is one slight problem like the cover on the master cylinder is not on properly it will cause this. I would double check your brake fluid. You can try disconnecting the battery for 5 minutes. And see if the error clears.

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

This is normal after replacing the brake pads. You can take it to any shop that has a device to erase the log on the dash. This is computer related and needs to be removed by a scan tool.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa!

Don't worry the brakes will be fine. You will just need the light to be erased. Try opening the hood and remove the positive battery connector. Let it sit for 5mins. then reconnect it again. This can help on removing the lights too.

Why does my ABS light stays on and sometimes i get a vibration in the brake petal causing my 2002 Cadillac escalade not wanting to stop?

Sounds like a fault with the Antilock Braking System. The vibration in the pedal is the ABS working. With your foot on the brake pedal, it releases and re-applies the brakes to stop a skid from the wheels locking up. You need professional service for brakes.

Seems to be a known issue on all Cadillac and requires the ABS module to be replaced.
