Do you get a fairly loud 'click' when you turn the key to 'start'? If so, you need a meter or test light to check if power appears at the starter terminal when the solenoid clicks. If power appears, the starter requires repair or replacement (usually the brushes). If no power appears, then replace the starter solenoid. Hope this helps!

Follow the large cable from the positive battery terminal which goes to the starter solenoid. The other large terminal on the solenoid goes directly to the starter terminal. You might have to crawl under the car to find the starter--be sure to support the car with 'jack stands' after it is raised with a jack and block the wheels in the rear of the car to prevent it from rolling away. Hope this helps!

Did you make sure the starter still works? If not take the starter and have it tested. It could be a bad ground or bad starter. Check both.

I dont know the exact location of the starter on this model of car but you will find it connected to the motor around the flywheel area, where the motor and transmission connect.

Your car probably has an aftermarker remote car starter module installed that you reset, by changing the battery. It has nothing to do with your actual car starter. You will need to shut down(valet) or uninstall that aftermarket remote car starter module to get it to stop trying to start your car with no keys in the ignition.

Location of Alternator relay in 1987 Nissan Pintara 4cyl EFI, new alternator, new battery, fusable link ok, not charging properly, no charge light on dash.

I am assuming that when you say no alt light on dash , you mean that when you first turn key on for the bulb check it won't light. i f this is true then I would be looking at replacing the bulb first. most car's use the bulb in the dash as part of the excitment circut to get the alt to start charging.

Have 1990 ford mustang convertible 4 cyl turn key and nothing happens no click nothing light, wipers power windows radio all turn on and work pulled starter and cellunoid and they are fine battery is...

Check for fusible links close to the battery, they may be just wires or they may look like giant fuses. Use an electrical tester to see if current is passing through them. Also you can try using a screwdriver to connect the main bttery power at the starter to the cellunoid to check that it will start. Just make sure it is in park or neutral and the emergency brake is on.

My nissan stanza wont start

Then it is either dirty or loose battery cables, or the fusible link in your positve cable, or the ground cable is not grounding.

88 wrangler wont crank

is this a manuel or automatic transmission? if its automatic try forcing the shift lever forward while trying to start, if its a manuel check the clutch pedal switch , if no luck with those check to see if the ignition switch is giving 12volts in the start position, if not then just put a momentary contact push button on the dash and put key on power to one side of the button and the other side to the small wire on the starter then you have yourself a push button start with the key on only so there are no accidents, please rate -jeff
