Yes, take out the brass bolt on the side of the trans. that has the electical hook up. Next, starting with the shaft closest to this bolt. Drive them out after removingnthe roller pins.

You either have a Linkage problem, or a shift fork problem.

I'm betting shift fork (inside the tranny) as I don't think you have a linkage, but you didn't specify your vehicle well.

Shift fork wont move/all hydrolics replaced

Just a suggestion here but my son was experiencing the same problem with his Toyota Celica. We replaced the clutch and throwout bearing and MC, had me stumped for days the I pulled back the rubber boot on the MC where the it comes through the firewall under the dash and saw that there was fluid leaking into the boot so basically the MC was bad an it was bypassing the metering valve causing the fluid not to push the slave cylinder all the way down for engagement. On another car ...a 97 Saturn SL it wouldn't shift into gear, also all new clutch components. Wound up being a bad top right side motor mount was bad. engine was sagging just enough to cause the clutch not to shift properly. I hope this helps.

2000 ford zx2 shift for issues

Can you verify that when you push the clutch pedal to the floor the slave cylinder is moving the pin that goes between the slave cylinder and the clutch fork. It sounds like the clutch is not releasing properly.

I have a 92 ranger 4x4 with a bad shift fork im told. How hard is it to replace?

on many manual transmissions, very easy.
you didn't say what transmission you have
you didn't say what transmission (do you mean transmission
or transfer mission)
who told you fork is bad? ask that person
how can they tell you fork is bad without taking it out and looking at it?
sounds like you need a mechanic.

good luck

Obd11 code p-0751 trans has no reverse stuck in 2nd gear

If this is a manual (5 speed) - you may have a broken shift fork. You'll want to either replace just the shift fork, or (best) - purchase a clutch kit for the truck as well as the shift fork; the kit will come with everything you need to replace the clutch. It is not necessary to replace the clutch components, however it's best to while you're in there, that way you know everything is new and good. Otherwise, after pulling the transmission, and verifying that the shift fork is the issue, then replace the shift fork. (It's best here, to replace the throw-out bearing, (it attaches to the shift fork) as it is most likely damaged.

There is a clutch fork and it's bolted to the transmission bell housing. It's what pushes on the clutch bearing, disengaging the transmission from the engine, which allows you to safely change gears. If it's broken, you will surely have to replace that clutch fork in order for you to do any gear shifting in the future.

1989 Ford F-150 4.9L 300 inline 6 cylinder 5 speed stuck in 3rd Gear? any solutions

If your clutch master cylinder is good in all other gears: you can disengage and, shift the other gears with the engine not running and, you have the correct amount of clutch fluid
in your clutch master cylinder: to release the clutch:
you have a broken 5th gear syncro and, a bent fork
remove the transmission and, when you remove the shift cover you will
see the problem; you must drain the transmission case remove any metal debris; remove the gear set and, replace the syncro...the fork can probably be
re-straightened use clean, new case oil when you reassemble the transmission.

Engine spudders when changing gears

The mechanic should check on the gears form N, R, P, 1st gear, second, third gear of the transmission . you also have to check the oil seals of the gears of the transmission.Don't forget to check also the shift level and the shift fork of the transmission.check the said gears ,the shift fork ,the shift level and the oil seals if they are worn out or destroyed you should replace them. Most of the time if the engine spudders when changing in gears it means that there is a problem in the oil seals of the transmission gears . Don't forget to check also the transmission bearing to be sure. Because it is spuddering .
