If your dash light are out too replace the fuse. Otherwise using a multimeter or the like you need to start at the fuse block and check for power all the way to the bulb sockets. Don't forget to chaec the gropund wires also.

1990 CADILAC BATTERY PROBLEMS


have a load test done on the battery to check for bad cell. Have the alternator bench tested for diode and out put . Remove the earth wire and place an amp meter in the circuit to check what current is being drawn to indicate if bulbs or shorts.. Check that the boot light is turning off , glove box light is off, map reading light is off. interior light is off.

CHeck fuel pump pressure. It should have a code stored on you information center. Did this happen all at once ? Check vac hose to map sensor.

i know this sounds strange, but does the glove box have a lock on it? Like a keyhole of a door lock. If so, one of your keys should open it.

Where is the belt tenison pully in a 1990 cadilac deville? changing my serpitine belt a i've never worked on a cadillac, just need the location of the tension pullly. thank you


There should be a decal under the hood or on the radiator shroud showing the routing of the belt and naming the components. The tensioner is the pulley that is on a spring that can be moved with a breaker bar or belt adjusting tool. The other components should not be moveable.
