    put key in the ignition to start the truck BUT THE KEY WOULD NOT TURN some one on this website site said to put WD 40 on / in key slot BUT IT DID NOT WORK

    the key dose not turn at all like the ignition is locked but the battery soon needs to be replaced could it be the problem THANK YOU

    1. Check the IGN 0 fuse in the fuse box under the rear seat (driver
    side) to see if it is blown or if the fuse does not have 12 volts key

    2. If the fuse is not blown but does not have 12 volts, then
    go to the White wire of the ignition switch and see if it is showing 12
    volts with the key on.

    3. If there is not power the ignition switch is bad.

    It is the IGN 0 fuse under the rear seat, if you have a test light see
    if there is any power on it as well as if it is blown. To check the
    white wire you can get to them by removing the lower cover on the
    steering column, I do not believe the wheel needs to be removed on this model.

    There is actually a gm service bulletin about this problem and basically
    it states that you must reposition the shifter boot. You can simply try
    pulling the boot up and away from the shifter mechanism. I am a little
    concerned when you say there is no power though. See if anything works,
    this could be a bad battery or possibly a faulty ignition switch. Let me
    know how you make out. If this doesn't work we can go further

    Yes, that could be an issue. On this model, battery and ignition switches are creating a lot of problems with almost all customers.

    When diagnosing a concern regarding an intermittent vehicle no crank or dead battery, technicians should remove and reinstall the ignition switch using the Ignition Switch Replacement procedure in the Steering Wheel and Column section of SI. The ignition switch may have been misindexed in the steering column during a previous replacement.

    If the ignition switch is misindexed in one direction, the ignition switch circuits will not be completely open when the ignition switch is in the OFF position with the key removed. This may result in lights remaining on or instrument panel lights illuminating, which will drain the battery. If the ignition switch is misindexed in the opposite direction, the ignition circuits will open correctly but the ignition switch may not close the crank circuit properly when the ignition key is turned to the crank position. This will result in a no crank concern.

    There are few more reasons for the same on this model ....

    If key won't turn in the ignition cylinder, You have either a bad key or a tumbler sticking in the lock cylinder.Please dont take a hammer to your ignition, I am researching the problem through a GM master tech that I know.

    your vin number to the dealer to have it made there.

    see what is jammed up.

    But one last thing to try is to disconnect the battery for a few minutes, lets say 30 and see if that frees up the cylinder.

Any good API rated 10w-30 would work. If you do any towing I might go to a 10w-40.

No rad fan motor changed large relay under hood drivers side and 40 amp fuse is ok whats next

If no rad fan motor after the large relay and fuse, check the thermostat switch. It may be a bit messy but it's worthwhile connecting the fan motor straight to the battery terminals. This'll at least tell you that the fan is still operational.

Check Engine light staying on in Chevy Aveo. Yes

Many things can cause this problem...unfortunately the only proven way to remidy this situation is to have your car scanned by a reputable mechanic with a diagonstic machine $40-$80. This will tell what exactly is causing the check engine light to come on, in the long run its much cheaper replacing whats wrong than trying to replace things that arnt wrong.

Oil light comes on when idling or stopped at light, light goes out when you press on gas petal.

this is due to low oil pressure. i would do an oil change and get an oil filter from the dealer(actually you should be able to get motorcraft filters at any parts store) but dont use fram. up grade your oil to the next heavier weight( 10w 30 go to 10w 40) and see if this make a difference. if no difference is noticed the next diagnostic step is to see your technician and have himperform whats called a wet oil test. by this i mean that the pressure sesnor is only taking pressure and converting it into an electrical signal which if the sensor is bad..... so he takes out the sensor and replaces it with an actual gauge to read pressures. this is the most acurate way to test. from there he will be able to advise you on the next step of repair.

i suspect that the crankshaft sensor has gone bad and if this is the case the injectors wll not fire bcus the computer does not see crank rotaton. When you spray a substiute fuel in you are temporarily being the fuel source.
