I would go to do a search and watch a few folks pull GM door panels out. Search for door panels or speaker replacement. Yours will be just about like them. You will need to go to a parts store and get the special tool which goes under the panel and pulls out the push in snap connectors without breaking them or tearing the door panel. Kind of like a long curved flat blade screwdriver which has a split in the end. Would not hurt to buy some replacement connectors while you are there as some will break.

door lock may be sticking due to water ingress and maybe sticking due to frost. spray plenty water displacement fluid in /around locking mechanism. you may also need to remove door card and access internals of latch to spray also.

I have a 2005 Sunfire and I had GM install after the car was made, remote locks. It seems in cold weather I am not able to get into the drivers side or passenger door. I can get my key in the lock and...

Condensation is the most common cause for the freezing up of mechanisms. Try using WD40 spray, if you can use one with a long straw that fits into the spray head as it allows you to get into small spaces and keeps things clean. WD40 is not only good releasing lubricant but it does have amazing water repellent properties. Keeping moisture at bay should alleviate the problems of freezing up.

2005 sunfire pontiac frond door

It is likely the handle or rod came of the lock mechanism. YOu will have to remove all the screws in the door panel and then take a pry bar or huge flat-tipped screwdriver and pry the panel off the door. Then take a look inside to see what doesn't look right. You may see the rod hanging there or it may be lying on the bottom of the door. It should snap back in place, if it doesn't stay in place, then a new little plastic fastner will need to be installed to hold the rod in place.

Taking door panel off

If you have manual windows, remove the window crank handle. Then remove the screw from the trim around the door handle and pry the trim from the door. If you have power locks, disconnect the lock connector from the trim and set it aside. Now remove the panel screws from the bottom of the door (either four or five). You should now be able to pull the panel away from the door at the bottom and then lift it up and away. Once the panel is removed from the door, disconnect the speaker connector.

Power door locks not working

hey hows things goin there here in canada we are use to that problem it happens on all our cars and trucks because they use alot of salt on the roads in the winter this causes the power windows and door locks to get rusty and stiff causing them to fail . this is the same problem that you are experiencing now if your careful remove the inside door panel and find door lock mechanism use some wd40 to spray onto mechanism work the lock with your hand until it loosens up use the door key if its easier to handle but go slow and steady at first until wd40 gets into stiff area once its feeling better then buy some rust inhibitor spray and soak the same parts inside door to protect forever go at it and good luck do take care not to break key off in lock ok bye for now
