I have a 1994 pontiac firebird 6 cyl 5speed manaul The service engin light stays on. how can I turn it off?

Just thought I should chime in here. I also own a 1994 Firebird V6 that I've been doing a ton of work and research on..I would strongly suggest retriving the code that your SES light is trying to alert you about before you clear it. You can clear all codes by just disconnecting your negitive battery terminal for about 5 minutes then reconnecting it. It can also be done by just pulling you PCM BATT fuse for 5 minutes. BUT...the light will just come back on if it's a problem that still exsists and is ongoing. BTW...my maintenence manuals for this car says to disconnect the battery (or pulling the PCM BATT fuse) like this before doing any maintenence on the ignition, fuel, air intake, vacuum, secondary A.I.R. system, and/or any tune-up work, etc. When you're done, reconnect the battery. Hope this helps.

1994 firebird v6 3.4lt engine muffler

On a vehicle that old, particularly a Firebird (which tend to have a high probability of exhaust modifications), it is hard to say. The BEST way to find out, would be to MEASURE the pipe.

Hi I have a 1994 firebird v6 3.4 liter engine, my engine light goes on when I drive at cruse speed 55 mph. the engine always runs smooth and when I stop the car for 1 minute and start it again the engine...

Your computer on your firebird is logging a trouble code when the check engine light comes on. Save yourself some money and go to a local parts store to use a scanner. Most parts stores will hook up to your car for free and tell you the codes that are being logged. You can spend a lot of money assuming what parts may be malfunctioning by just throwing parts at your car. Check it first and you will be money ahead.

There is no adjustment. This is all accomplished by the powertrain computer module (PCM).The only way the timing can be disrupted is if the chain jumped.Hope this helps.Good luck.

Vibrates while setting at a stop light.

Had any recent work done to it? When I had my transmission replaced the mechanic actually tuned it to idle at too low of a rpm so it would idle hard except for when in neutral. If so have your mechanic look at it and tweek it. If not then it might be time for new spark plugs and a good ole fashion tune up. Including all of your filters changed and possibly your injectors. Just some food for thought!
