You will need to pull the radio out of the dash and get the serial number which is on the right side 14 digit stamped in the metal. The numbers should start with VW....you will also need the VIN. Then you will need to call a VW dealer with these numbers and ask them if they will get it for you. They will enter the numbers in a special VW dealer secured web site to get the code.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Hello,

depending on the vehicles engine configuration it should be fuse no. 42 in the fascia fusebox.

Please try this first and drop me a line if it´s not no. 42, i´ll post a complete list and diagram then.

2004 volkswagon beetle light on reads epc. what does this mean?

electronic pedal control [accelerator pedal] fault stored in memory, most likely with throttle valve control unit. you need to have the fault memory checked. may be that memory needs to be cleared and basic settings done. low or flat battery can cause a fault to be stored.

How can i get the passcode for my radio for my 1999 beetle my daughter bought a used 1999 Volkswagon beetle and the radio does not work. I was told that it has a passcode to reset it, but how to I get this...

You can go to the dealer and they can help you with the radio code and get the radio working again, but if they want crazy money for the code. Log on to radio-code.com. They can get you the radio code for a small fee and you get to keep the code for future radio lockouts. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to know your radio is working again.

Radio

My son has a 2004 Volkswagon Jetta that had a dead radio. It occurred after my daughter -in- law experienced a dead battery, requiring a jump start. The radio was totally dead. All fuses in the fuse panel were checked first. My local Volkswagon service center was kind enough to assist me in removing the radio from the instrument panel (special "key" required) free of charge. In the back of the radio is a 10-amp mini fuse that was blown. Check it out before you spend megabucks replacing anything else.

Trouble codes

The listing of codes that I have states that a P11xx code is related to fuel and air metering. I'd suspect from the past to check for vacuum leaks (broken, cracked or disconnected vacuum lines) or possibly the mass airflow sensor. You can get electrical contact cleaner from Radio Shack, unplug the electrical connector for the mass airflow sensor, and clean it to see if that helps.
