thanks, i purchased a new battery from Autozone, and that did not start the car.

  • dianef24 Nov 17, 2010

i have no head lights, no ignition lights or interior lights, no radio. The only lights i do have is the blinkers. The car is not even cutting on. When the car first cut off the radio went first, the the rest of the car just shut down.

from peoples descriptions it can be difficult to diagnose correctly ,the symptoms you describe are typical of a battery goiing flat which is why i stated charge the battery first to see what happens ,you state it still doesnt start so is engine turning over ,are the headlights bright ,are the ignition lights on ?? like that robot film i need input to be able to diagnose correctly as so many things can go wrong with motor vehicle ,if i had the bonnet up and my oily hands on it i could tell you whats wrong in seconds

under the bonnet is a power supply fuse box and in this box is the breakup of the feed cable from the battery to the various distribution circuits on the vehicle and i think the fault is in this box where some of the cables are corroded and or the connections on the bases of the big power passsing fuses ,have a look in this box and underneath it at the connections .then if it it appears ok then the earth points under the dash

Could be a weak or failing alternator. Have it tested.

Dash lights flicker slowly and suddenly all warning lights flash rapidly. radio and air shuts down and just as suddenly it went crazy it straightens out. of course it starts over.HELP!

The Dealer will not help you without charging you your right arm and left leg. After checking your alternator and battery, it is probably the battery ground wire that goes into the wiring harness. You have a bare wire in there that occasionally shorts everything out. You can do a "quick fix" by just grabbing the harness where the ground goes in and moving it a little. Eventually, you will have to have someone cut that bundle open and find the bad wire and replace it. This is a poorly engineered vehicle. I will not be buying another dodge EVER.

Check your battery and cable and ground connections. check also your alternator belt (drive belt). Have your battery checked at any autoshops.

Nissan 1995 Sentra power windows and panel lights are dead. both power windows and panel lights suddenly went dead leaving the windows in up positionor also the radio does not work. I've change

I just answered your other question about this same issue. You need to stop replacing parts long enough to DIAGNOSE the problem so you are not creating further problems by changing all the parts on the car.

My 2000 Ford Windstar is having some electrical issues. I was driving it home and the AC stopped working the radio went dead the odometer went dead my turn signals did not work and I could not roll down...

Check your alternator. My van did something similar. I was driving down the road and all of the sudden my windows, a/c, radio, door locks, speedometer, everything electrical went down. We stopped and tried to crank it and it wouldn't. Then finally it cranked up went another mile before the fuel pump quit working too. It was the alternator. I had to have someone come jump me off and follow me to the parts store and then home for it to be fixed.

Very possible you may have a faulty voltage regulator. I would have it tested which many places do for free.

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM, ALL OF A SUDDEN THE WHOLE INSTRUMENT PANEL WENT OFF NO RPM, NO TEMP, NO CLOCK, NO ENGINE LIGHT, OR ANY OTHER WARNING LIGHTS, ONLY THE TURNING SIGNALS AND THE BATTERY LIGHT WORKED. SEAT BELTS AND WINDOWS STOPPED WORKING. MY RADIO HAS BEEN INSTALLED FOR OVER 4 MONTHS SO I REALLY DOUBT IT IS THE RADIO. IF ANYONE KNOWS WHAT IT COULD BE PLEASE LET IT BE KNOWN. ALL FUSES ARE GOOD ALSO.

My 2002 Honda Civic starts - but slowly and the lights flicker

Well it absolutely sounds like an alternator issue. But i noticed you said "in the rain" correct? See this is where it gets tricky for most folks. But ill tell ya how to resolve this, if you arent having problems now things are gonna be just fine. I mean if you got up the next morning and th ecar did normal, then evidentally an electrical component had some moisture in it but has dried out now,so if it was the alternator the problem would only worsen, and within a few days your battery would fail. So I think you will be just fine
