I have a 97 audi a4 avant. The air con gets warm but the fan doesn't blow. Started as an intermittent fault, but won't work at all now. Any ideas? Thanks

I.M NOT AN EXPERT BUT I THINK YOU MIGHT HAVE A PROB WITH THE HEATER BLOWER (BEHIND THE GLOVE BOX UNDER THE DASHBOARD) , THE BLOWER FAN MIGHT BE DEAD,,, MAYBE BECAUSE OF THE ¬BRUSHES¬ OR MAYBE THE SMALL ENGINE IS BURNED. IF ANY FRIENDS CAN HELP YOU TRY AN ¬OUTPUT TEST VAGCOM¬ THE COSTS MAXIMUM 150$ OR 130£. GOOD LUCK!!!

I have 1999 Audi A4 Avant 1.9 TDI. Usually when

the aircon gas needs recharging in a car at least every 3 yrs.you also need to run it for at least 15mins a day(on average)to keep in tiptop condition.also dont forget to spray air con cleaner into air intake of heater to get rid of legionaires bug(really!!! )

Fan on Audi A4 Avant not working

'Fraid I can only vouch for the A6, but the A4 is very similar and has many common components. On the A6 it's reasonably easy, as the access is from behind the glovebox on the inside and under a filter next to the battery on the outside. Audi's are notorious for having burnt-out/seized heating blower fans, so your diagnose is probably correct... :(

Front wipers stopped working

Try to run a ground test on the motor, If it gets power, then you neeed to replace the switch.. if it doesnt run with the ground test, then you need a wiper motor.

Heater fan only works intermittently, Usual faulty when raining.

mine was the same 1999 a4 1.8se avant, i replaced the fan from gsf car parts £46 take out the glove box, and its there it unscrews and 1 plug then its out i had never done one before and it took me an hour and a half, when its intermitant like that its on its way out, mine works fine now, you could also just replace the pollen filter which sits on top of it first if you want but would recomend replace fan aswell , regards jim

Audi a4 1.8 avant 1997

my 97 a4 would start and then die, i had it diagnosed as the immobiliser in the dashboard costing about £600 !!! The battery went flat trying to start it so i took it off the car and charged it up, when i put it back on the car before i took it to get fixed i thought i would try it 1 more time and "hey presto" it started and ran and has not missed a beat since ! That was 2 years ago, it was like the computer had re-set itself with the battery removed for charging, i hope this may be of some help.

Air Conditioning - blows warm

Hi

If the fuses are all ok and you can hear the aircon clutch clicking when you attempt to switch it on, then I think it may be time for a re-gas! You could do it yourself with a can of gas from an autofactors, but you wouldn't get the pressure right, and, there would still be old gas in there.

If you took it to a garage, however, they would **** out all the old gas, and then hold the vacuum in there for a while to check for any leaks. Then they would refill to the exact pressure with fresh new gas.

Regards

Geordie
