It is called a sub frame and it can be purchased separately from the dealer. Be prepared to pay. You will also have to take the car half apart to replace it. A better solution might be to take the car to a welding or machine shop and get the existing sub frame repaired. It will be a lot cheaper and work as well as long as you get a competent shop. Don't get your buddy that knows how to weld to do it. Hope this helps.

It would be time saving and cheaper to find a certified weld shop to weld a plate over the crack and box it.

My 1993 prelude has a shake and pulls quite a bit to the left while driving.

You have a sticking brake caliper. go get your brakes checked.

I have a 1997 Chrysler LHS and I was told that a "body connector" is broken, Does anyone have any idea what that is?

When someone tells you something, get involved
& be part of the process & ask what they are trying
to explain to you or help you with

We get hundreds of he said, she said, questions

If you were told something and don't know,
we surely don't.

I will guess that maybe a subframe to body mount
has rusted away !!

Steering wheel has play in seems like its coming from the column.

Check to make sure the intermediate shaft (the u-joint at the bottom of the column) is not cracked or worn, and that the pinch bolts are tightened.

Check to make sure the busings that secure the rack to the subframe are not worn out.

Check to make sure that the subframe bolts are all there, that the washers are there, and that the subframe bushings are not worn out (chunks missing and nasty greasy is a bad sign).

Check to make sure the tie rod ends are not worn out.

Check to make sure the lower control arm bushing is not worn out.

Check your front tire pressures.

My mechanic told me that the bushings that hold up the subframe are showing signs of cracking. He said that since the steering column is attached I would lose control if the bushings broke. Is it possible...

It is highly unlikely that the bushings will fail. They do tend to crack alittle, but the bolts will still hold the subframe on. Now if they are rusted out, this is a possibility. You do have 4 bushings holding the subframe on also. 2 at the front, and 2 at the back.
