Check gearbox oil level with engine running and in drive handbrake on ,if it still doesnt work then pull the autobox out and fit a manual gearbox ,its cheaper and it will do more miles to the gallon

Trasmision

regular maintenance is to check fluid levels,,if transmission seems to be "slipping" reaching high revolutions(REVS) with seemingly less power, then you may have to have it service by changing screens of trans. filter.

Over drive goes into drive and stayes there also pulses on hills befor down shift

this is normal for the transmisson to down shift out of over drive it does this because your engine is running out of power on the up grade. now you shouldnt be alarmed unless it slips out of overdrive on a flat road

My 99 venture van shifts hard when changing gears but does not slip . i think it needs either a new trans mount or engine mount. is their any advise or known problems that this type of problem has existed...

check your mounts,, better a hard shift then a soft shift ,, might be shifting late and not shifting at the proper times .. try driving a 3,,, and see if the shift gets soft.. sounds like a late shift or mount
