I haven't worked on that vehicle but in my experience it probably is the water pump. That is how you know when it goes bad

How mutch laber is it to replace a water pump on a 1999 chevy 1500 5.3

If you are a DIY'er its not hard, remove your - cable from your battery, remove serpentine belt, drain your coolant, remove shroud & radiator, fan & pulley, then water pump. Install in reverse order. If you have a local library card you can log in and access Chiltons repair manuals for your make and model.

1999 chevy silverado pick up 4.3 engine turns over good wont start. it was low on gas so i put some in it

If you haven't replaced the fuel pump yet, start saving up. A '99's pump will usually need to be replaced after 8-10 years. Believe it or not, Amazon.com has the best price! Look up the part number at Rockauto.com then search Amazon for it.

My son bought a 1999 Chevy Silverado 1500 LS, V-8, in January with 97,000 miles. He has put less than 1000 miles on it. It is running very roughly, blowing white smoke, and leaking water from the muffler....

check the compression in all cylinders if bad in any one blow head gasket but the white smoke pretty much tell me that mechanic for 8 years 5 at ford 3 at bmw

Just installed rebuilt engine for 2001 chevy 1500 LS v-8 and it is overheating. top hose is hot. repaced the water pump, thermostat, sensor, surge cap, cleaned surge tank. could there be an air lock...

yes it may be, but did you check the radiator for blockage? inside and out side, check to see if there is dirt on the fins. also check the cooling fan operation.
top hose get hot so that meant the thermostat is working ( it's opening ) try to bleed the cooling system again

Describe your replace front passenger side cv joint 1998 4wd chevy silverado 1500 Problem my front passenger side cv joint is making extremely loud noise, especially while turning. How much can I expect...

CV halfshaft will run you $75 at local autoparts store. Shop labor varies from shop to shop as well as their expertise.
The brake caliper has to be pulled, lower shock bolt removed, upper and lower ball joint seperated (book will say only one but it is not true) and steering knuckle and axle nut removed. CV joint simply unbolts at differential output flange.

ABS control module "brake fluid pump" runs constantly.

I do not know anywhere that can repair the module, and yes one from a salvage yard is a good idea.
