2006 Toyota Corolla

I would like to know why I have trouble keeping my toyota on the road when it is windy or rainy. Does anyone have an explanation as to why this is happening? My husband lost control of it just trying to change lanes and we hit a tree on the side of the road just last week.

You guys should change tires, factory tires are not worth much buy tires size 205 / 60 / 15 that will give you much better traction and contol

I know you probably have good tires, but it wouldnt hurt to check into it and make sure you have the most appropriate tires for those weather conditions

The "S" is for Sport mode - keeping your car in a lower gear longer (higher RPMs) when you are driving on windy roads.

The "B" is for slowing down the car while going down a hill. Like shifting from Drive into L1 or L2 gear.

Driving and car died and now wont start it has power and turns over just wont start

You need to isolate the problem. If it starts when you spray carb cleaner into the throttle body while cranking then problem is in fuel system.(pump, pump relay, filter or fuse) If not, then look into ignition system. Use any manual to get specific testing instructions and do not buy anything till you verify by testing that you really need that part or it can get unnecessarily expensive.
If you need more info on anything, just ask, but at the point you are at, careful testing will tell you far more than anyone here can tell you.

2009 Corolla steering problem

I had this "problem" but there wasn't anything wrong with the car - it was just my driving...
The steering is just sensitive and "sporty" - try driving with a much lighter hand - even one hand, lower on the wheel. I now find the steering great and its actually very responsive.
It took 3 visits to Toyota before someone finally explained this to me but it works. People kept explaining that it "drives like a Corolla" but couldn't tell me how to drive it better.
Mind you the car is still horrible on windy days but I don't have same issues in normal highway driving.
A year ago I was actually renting cars for road trips instead of driving my 09 Corolla S I was that freaked out about the steering but I'm now completely comfortable driving the car. I do have to warn everyone that drives my car on the highway though...they never believe me at first but always concede that I'm right and that a light hand makes a huge difference.
