Question about 1999 Chevrolet Camaro

1 Answer

My Camaro was stolen and the rear end of the body was completely totaled. I need to replace the body, I found one, but the air bags are deployed out of the driver and passenger sides. Can I replace these with mine, if so where can I find out how to do it myself? Will I have to get them reprogrammed or anything? I need help.

As far as doing finding info on how to do it yourself u mitgh find it on autozone .com by looking up how to replace the multi-funtion switch. of course u will only need the part that tells how to remove the airbags.and lookup replacing the heatcore for the pass. but yes it should work. hope this helps.

How do i reset my deployed headrest in my crystler 200 i was rear ended

There is no resetting a deployed airbag. The air bag module must be replaced and the airbag control module will need replacing along with the seatbelt pre-tensioners.

Repair deployed airbags on chevy malibu 2005

You will not be able to perform this repair without a scan-tool that can communicate with the Air-Bag system. This tool allows the mechanic to look and test affected components. It also allows the system to be reset, after the necessary repairs are completed. The Air-Bag deployed because the Air-Bag Control Module detected an impact. If you replace the air-bag before any necessary repairs are completed and before the system is reset, the new air-bag will deploy as soon as it receives power.

If I replace the airbags in my 2001 Dodge Stratus SE Coupe can they be from a junk yard? If not can I just replace the driver one? If I choose not to replace them will that be dumb? Just wondering.

intact and never used air bags can be used from the same make of vehicle from the junk yard
if they have never been deployed then get the entire dash with the air bags
replace the steering wheel center as well from the junk yard
not having them is really not a good idea as a smashed head is not an option if you or your passenger want to survive
unfortunately it has been reported here that cars have been stolen for the express purpose of un-deployed air bags and that would make the price from the junk yards close to service dealer parts price
the replacement of the air bags and any damaged dash should be covered in the insurance to fix the car

Two days ago I was in an accident. I ended up rear ending a 2000 ford focas and there isn't any serious body damage to my jeep or anything but my air bags did deploy. I was told by an auto mechanic that...

airbags can get pricey witth new ones reaching the $800.00 mark. if you don't want to go that route check your local or online salvage yards for used units but only buy from a reputable company as their is a large market for selling faulty and non loaded (empty shells) airbags. these may be found for around $150.00 dollars. hope this helps if so please leave positive rating.

My 99 z28 was stolen. My whole rear end of the body was wrecked. I need another body. I have looked everywhere. Where can I find an affordable body style, with T-tops for a 99 z28 camaro?

Contact just about any salvage yard they are linked via network and can find the nearest rear clip for you. You probably won't be able to get a complete body due to title issues from them. next thing is another car dump this one.

Front end damage air bags deployed is it fixable?

fixable possible depends on front end damage needs to go to bodyshop to have front end and frame" checked to if repairable and they should be able to replace airbags as well but will probably need a new airbag module also ? not that familiar with ford procedures and whos paying for this it wont be cheap and insurance may total it???

Hit a deer and airbags deployed; some front end damage to vehicle; what do I need to do to replace airbags and get them functioning again? (especially with regards to airbag sensor)

the air bags are very costlly, like around 2,000-4,000 eachwith out labor. the sensors are a few hundred also. when you replace the air bags you should replace all of the sensors. very expensive. for that kind of money you could almost get a new van. using junk yard air bags i don't suggest. to risky.

Airbags deployed

You have to disconnect the battery, replace the air bag modules (air bag modules are the things that explode in your face) and the crash sensors and the control unit or module that came with it. Reconnect the battery and the car should start. Hope this is helpful.
