Get a replacement motor/pump at your local auto parts store ...

This is not rocket science ... if you want to find out what fuse it is ... look at the fuse box. If you can't read it or if you can't find it according to what is written ... pull out each fuse, one at a time, until you have either checked all of them or you find one that is blown. If you find one that is blown ... go get a replacement of the same rating.

My guess is it is the motor ... even though according to you ... I am not helpful ...

I cant tell from looking at the owners manual, which fuse is linked to the drivers side window. Mine is not going up or down.

All the windows are fused by just one fuse, if it goes all the windows stop working. You either have a defective driver door control switch or the window regulator motor is defective. I would think the motor inside the door that lifts the window is the issue here. You can verify it (window motor defective) by doing this simple test, at night open the door and leave it open, operate the driver door window switch and watch the interior lights (dome light in particular), they will dim just very slightly if the motor is defective, if they do not dim then the switch is likely the cause.

WHAT COULD BE CAUSING MY PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW NOT TO GO DOWN? HAVE POWER TO THE LOCKS AND MIRROR. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

The first thing I would do is check the fuses. The fuse/circuit for the power windows would require more amperage than the mirror or locks and, would therefore, be on a totally different circuit. Check the owners manual for the location of the fuse.

Was the window acting up (operating slowly or making mechanical noises or grinding noises) if any of these were noticed, I would suspect a faulty motor or broken window regulator.

Me thinks, if it is anything more than a blown fuse, it would be beyond your skill level to fix therefore, I would take it to a reputable repair facility and ask them to check it out. If it is a fuse it would be a minimal charge.

The drivers window won't go up and down

If its electric.. check for fuses blown? Automatic window motor atleast making noises?? If fuse isnt blown or window motor doesnt make noise it could be broken wire inside the door.if the motor makes noise (clicking noises with no movement) could need replacement. The window might have slipped out of the guides..check owners manual for fuse location.."haynes manuals" sells some good books on how to replace parts on automotives. U will find detailed info there.they can also be found online or for sale in Canadian tire or places like that.

I have a 2002 Oldsmobile Bravada...Yesterday all of a sudden my passenger's side window stop working(up and down)...the power lock and the heated seat all stop working on my passenger's side...?

If you have an Owners manual, try looking for a fuse panel diagram. Your could have a bad connection inside the doorpanel which shorted the fuse. The seat drive motor must be wired to a separate circuit coming from the floorboard and its okay.
The circuits are wired independently to protect the lighter wires from the heavy drain of the seat motor. If you had the heated seat function working on the seat at the same time as adjusting the seat motor it would be too much for a single circuit, so they gave you two circuits.

If you are going to work on the door panel, disconnct the NEG battery cable so you won't short out something taking it apart.

Another Repair place you might try is a Glass Replacement shop. They install the inner workings of window tracks daily and remove the door panels to do it. They would be able to find your wires, test your window motor, and get you on your way quickly.

Unlike a Dealership, they have a high turnover of glass installations daily. Some even come to your house to repair your problem. Your car would be repaired more quickly with these services.

Power window not working in 2002 Chevy Prizm

Sir , i kindly request you to check your battery water levels . If levels are fine kindly check for battery charge , you may do this by checking for brightness of your headlight beams . Now you may check if it takes longer sounding to get your engine started to idle .
Well if All the power windows are not working , Then its just the fault with wiring or fuses . You may check the fuses according to the fuse diagrams given on your vehicles owners manual . So replacing the fuses would get you happy .
If that dint work well , check for any wires cut or damaged , from the linkage between the door and cars body , which can be seen when the doors are opened to full angles. ie, check at the hinges part for cut off wires ..
If one or more windows are only the ones which don't work ,then it should be the least of all possibilities that your power window motor have been damaged or needs to be repaired or , there is a motor driver circuitry for each window which might have got damaged . You may see the circuit if you take off the side panel on the doors.
Thanking You , Dixon Dominic

Hi I have an 04 Ford Focus TDCI GHIA ESTATE, I know the weather is cold but my front and back water jets are not working, not even the usual noise you get when depressing the relevent butttons, both wipers...

Bound to be frozen at the pumps, even the pumps will freeze up hence no noise, it should self-sort after the engine has been running a while, the heat off the motor normally does the trick.

I would doubt it is a fuse but yes they do run through a fuse.

Pick up a screen wash sachet that contains anti-freeze from the gas/petrol station, empty the contents, it will slowly work it's way in and thaw out the system.

Lloyd

Window dose not go up,an i think its the fuse.

do you hear any noise when the switch is moved? could be a fuse, but could also be the window motor. check the fuse panel, if the fuse is not blown, then it is the motor. if you can't find the fuse, look on the fuse panel cover in the plastic they have the location or all the fuses, or check the owners manual they sometimes will tell you where the fuse is located.but if you are hearing any noise pressing the fuse it will be the motor. hope this helps you have a great day

should be a fuse in engine compartment drivers side black box and there will be fuses for each sep. window.chech the fuse-under box cover the fuses are labled.if fuse good may have bad switch-check <remove switch from panel after removing panel.check with key on for power at switch if power is good press switch chech power on motor by removing wire connector and test with light/meter at connector.if power good motor bad>hint motors are interchangable so you can use rear drivers motor for example before you buy anouther motor.i have 4 good ones if you need :-> gabndan2@msn.com
