My 1997 hyundai elantra won't start, over the last two weeksI have had to really push hard on the clutch to get it started, then it just wouldn't start at all. Battery is fully charged and starter motor is not faulty.

hydraulic slave cylinder may be leaking. check fluid level in clutch reservoir. If empty, check for leak at transmission. If slave is leaking, replace and bleed system.

My 97 Elantra won't start. It's a manual transmission and I have to depress the clutch to start it. The battery is fine. Today I kept pressing on the clutch and it finally started.

do you mean it wont turn over until you push the clutch pedal in, then after several attempts it finally did turnover and run???? clutch switch may be going bad.

My 2004 elantra gt (5 speed) will not start. When i push in the clutch, it acts as if the clutch was not pushed in at all. after a few minutes of manipulating the clutch in and out, it will finally start....

It's probably a loose wire or adjusting nut on the clutch switch. Check and adjust it. Look under the dash on top of the clutch pedal arm there's a simple push button switch like the brake light switch. Even if you need a new switch it's only $10.
