What is the maf senser

Mass Air Flow- the sensor measures the amount of air going into the intake-the only air the engine takes in-so the sensor is mounted in the big air boot between the air filter housing and the throttle body where the air enters to the intake.

The sensor converts the flow data to an electrical signal to the pcm, so it can figure out (with the other engine sensors) how much gas to add with the air for the ideal burn ratio. So it's an important sensor.

Will not run over 25 mph

check your speed sensor and your crank position sensor. I did a clutch job on my RIO and forgot to plug the crank sensor in all the way and it wouldn't go above 25 Mph. If that doesn't work, try replacing your Mass air flow sensor, it sets on top of your throttle body and bolt to your air box.

your post is 4 months old.i stared last week. there are 5000 un answered kia's if you still have the problem. do you have a check engine light on yet ? if so take it to an auto parts store that offers free check , write down the code and the meaning. and repost with that info.otherwise its a guessing game. could be mass air flow, knock sensor, throttle positon sensor, temp sensor etc etc.

Mass air flow sensor is out how can i fix the problem without having to replace the mass air flow sensor,or how can I make the car give more horsepower with out damaging my motor

My check engine light came on and the code came back saying that the mass air flow sensor was out. All I did was change the air filter even though I really didn't think it needed it, the light went off and has not come back on yet. Knock on wood!
