On a car that old I would shoot for a serviceable used replacement as opposed to a new one. Only a dealer could find you a new one and that is doubtful. Look for used jeep parts on ebay or craiglist and many junkyards have their inventory online, bear in mind that it is slim pickens finding parts for vehicles over 10 years old.

If it has the 4.2 engine they say it takes the group54 if its the 2.5 engine it uses the group 55 but i would use a interstate or another brand and use group 56 like a interstate megatron # MT 56.

My headlights suddenly stopped working. I assume it's a blown fuse. I have an old 84 cj7 that I do not have the manual for. I'm trying to find out which fuse is responsible for my problem.

Don't have a diagram for that one but I'd begin by checking power and ground at lights and power on the "out" wire from the switch, and work towards the middle. Also check power distribution center and see if there is a fuse, relay or both for that.

I am wondering what type of v-8 engine would be able to replace my 4.0 liter in my 1984 jeep cj7. It has a manual transmission.

jeeps came with an optional 304 cubic inch and the 360 will fit in the same space, both use the same tranny as the 4.0.
