If its rear wheel drive, your differental may be low of gear oil. There should be a fill plug, park it on level ground, unscrew it and gear oil should be coming out, if not, its low on gear oil.

2002 grand cherokee thumping noise coming from rear susp.

I had a similar problem about a year after having rear shocks replaced, turned out there is a round metal tube through the bushing at the top end of the shocks, if you tighten the mounting bolt down too tight these crack and allow a bit of movement which causes the clunk. Replacing the shocks (at another shop) solved the problem - two years ago, no recurrance. Take out the shocks and check that little metal tube (I'm sure it has a more technical name); if it is cracked, try to find replacements (otherwise you have to replace the entire shock) and be very careful when reinstalling them not to tighten the mounting bolts down too tightly. Don't know if maybe there is a torque specification for these mounts, perhaps a Haynes or Chiltons manual could help here. Good luck.

if this sounds like a grinding or grating noise its likly to be worn out disk pads it sounds like metal on metal,,,,if the noise is a squeaking sound when you lightly tuch the brakes then its likly to be dry disk pads they need a spot of copper ease grees on the back of the pads to stop this noise,,wip them out and grees them,,,only on the backs!

Noise from rear suspension on 2003 Honda Odyssey.

a clunking clanging noise sounds very much like your stabilizer bar end links and bushings. you have a thin rear "sway" bar on the rear of your odyssey. this can cause a whole lot of noise. grab each side and pull/push. if it feals loose, replace the end links and bushings.

There is a loud noise coming from my engine ..sometimes..

oh ok, you probably have air shocks and that is the compressor running... makes sense that it sounds with the engine off... it should not be a loud sound though, normally it's quite quiet and you only hear a faint noise... if it is that loud it's probably a bad compressor
