If you are talking about brakes, and the noise is a clicking sound, then you have drum brakes on the rear of your car. The springs in them break sometimes and causes a clicking noise. If it is a rubbing noise and you can feel a vibration in the steering wheel when you hit the brakes, it is a front rotor that is warped.
