for the brake lights, try pulling the connector off the switch above the pedal and connecting the terminals in the connector with a paper clip. If the lights go on, replace the switch.
For the instrument lights, it may be the dimmer in the headlight switch. Try giggling it.
I could send the diagram, but it would be hard to read and I don't think helpful.

Start with the fuse block. Generally the fuse block connections go bad from age, moister, & vibration

No power to brake light switch-79pontiac firebird

If you have power to the switch, then back prob and make sure power is coming through the switch, if it is then you have something unplugged or shorted in the wiring to the lights. Trace to trunk, trace backward to the switch. If you had a tune generator and a sound wand it would make it easier to trace. Good luck

My dash light and runing lights fuse keeps blowing when I take off in my 93 grand marquee

Acquire a schematic of that circuit so you can trace the wires for a pinched wire, each time you take off something is flexing and probably pinching a power wire shorting to ground when the fuse blows.

I have a 99 chevrolet camaro and the security light is on and wont go off or start and i tried retraining the brain but it still comes right back on when i turn the key off and back on

I had a similar problem with a 1991 Chrysler. There was a short in the security system so either it would drain the battery or the security light would start flashing and the car wouldn't start. My mechanic used wiring schematics to trace where the computer chip to the security system was located and simply removed it.
If it was me I would just have the same thing done to the Camaro instead of wasting time and money while trying to figure out exactly where the problem is.

88 2.8 camaro. There is a hot wire (red)-(ped 17) coming throught the wiring harness from driver side along the firewall between engine/heater motor (Does not connect to heater). i cant figure out where it...

FIND THE FIRST CONNECTOR IT COMES FROM. YOU CAN GET A SCHEMATIC FROM YOUR LOCAL LIBRARY. LOOK UP AND LOCATE CONNECTOR ON SCHEMATIC. IT WILL SHOW YOU CONNECTOR NUMBER, WIRE COLOR AND TERMINAL LOCATION TO VERIFY. THEN TRACE CIRCUIT

Both brakelights out but third one Wrks, fuse good and bulbs good.

If you have a trailer connector on the vehicle check for crossed or shorted wires at that connector. If not then you need to start tracing wires under the vehicle looking for shorts or grounded wires. The center light runs off 1 wire and the two brake lights are on a separate wire. Check for grounded wires or missing grounds near the jack storage in the vehicle if that is stowed in a compartment in the rear of the vehicle. If all of this is good, replace the flasher unit under the dash near the fuse panel.

I have a 1997 chevy camaro its the 6 cyl coupe radio will turn on and off on its own and when my radio works my windows will and when my radio doesnt neither will the windows i have talked to some friends...

I fought this same issue for nearly two years before I actually discovered what it was. It was only recently that my interior courtesy lights also stopped working at the same time the windows and radio would stop. After tracing through the wiring schematics i found all three had a common "wire" for these three circuits. It was the actual fuse box, not a fuse, but the box that the fuses plug into. If you notice the location of these three items on the fuse box, they are all on the far right column using the same power distribution wire for all three circuits. I had to tear out the fuse box and cleanup the corroded traces on the board and resoldered "jumper wires to fix this. I couln't locate a new fuse box with circuity so I repaired it myself.
Hope this helps you.

Brake lights not working

First check fuse. If good go right to brakelight switch on top of brake pedal under dash. Check for power into switch pedal up. If you have power in, press pedal down you should now have power out. If not you need brakelight switch. If you do have power out you have corroded or broken wire from switch towards taillights. Usually back by rear wheels. Need to trace wire to where there is a problem.

Fuse for instrument & tail lights keep blowing

if its blowing fuses, you have a short(power being touched to ground) Electrical can be hard to trace. Find you a wiring schematic for you vehical and trace each wire, look for loose connections and possible wires melted to each other. Hope this is a help.
