Question about 2000 Buick LeSabre

My air shocks have too much air in them after a service and oil change. Where do I go to release some pressure and what should the normal pressure level be?

I cannot get service brakes to release.I have oil pressure at the wheels when I release the park brake, is those normal?


are you talking about the e-brakes not releasing. if so what year make model is this car. it could be the e-brake cables seized or stuck in the on position. if someone can pull on the brake release then someone else reach under the car and pull on the brake cable it may come loose. the oil pressure you say you have at the wheels I`m guessing your talking about the brake hydraulic fluid.

Oil pressure gauge


oil pressure sensor, low pressure due to dying pump. or blown gasket causing the pressure to leak out. Check the easy ones first like the sensor. Good luck

Vw golf losing coolant through the overflow (expantion tank) when cooling down. thermestat changed. not overheating even at high speed. no water in the oil or oil in the water. the oil is normal colour ....


If there is definately no air in the system and everything is working properly have you changed the pressure cap on the expansion bottle? Very unusual but if everything else is ok then it might be worth a shot. Caps have a pressure release mechanism biult into them.

the lt autoride has self adjusting shocks, and the regular lt doesn't. if you look the autoride has airlines going to the shocks.

Where is the a.i.r. pump located



The air pump for the secondary air system (emission control device) is located under the battery. If you do replace it, replace the check valve too, it is on top of the exhaust manifold and connected to the pump with a hose. The check valve fails and ruins the pump. I think they are talking about the pump to provide vacuum to the climate control when the turbo is putting boost in the intake manifold. The vacuum can come from an electric pump or from an engine driven pump, something like an old engine driven fuel pump. I needed an electric pump for my 765T, and all the wrecking yards wanted to sell me the engine driven form. (A new one was $500, and it wasn't that important to me.)

An engine that takes the engine driven pump will have a hole in it while the others will not have a hole. Source(s): 35 years maintaining my own cars, including 17 years with a 1985 765T

Support the rear wheels or support the rear lower control arms when certain tests require raising the vehicle on a hoist. Use two additional jack stands in order to support the rear lower control arms in the normal curb weight position when a frame type hoist is used. Refer to Trim Height Specifications in Suspension General Diagnosis.

Refer to ALC Suspension System Check for electrical troubleshooting of the Automatic Level Control (ALC) system, or if DTC's are present.

Diagnosing Leveling Complaints Without DTCs Present Procedure
Perform the following preliminary inspections before performing the system performance test:

Inspect the ignition (pin A & pin H) at the ALC sensor connector.
Ensure that the ignition (pin A & pin H) at the ALC sensor connector connection is secure.
Inspect the ground (pin E) at the ALC sensor connector.
Ensure that the ground (pin E) at the ALC sensor connector connection is secure.
Inspect the ALC sensor link.
Ensure that the ALC sensor link is properly secured to the actuator arm.
Inspect the ALC sensor actuator arm for damage.

How do i raise an 89 sedan deville with air struts i've ripped out my high pressure line twice and have decided to raise the car and might put some bigger rims on it


You should have coil over stuts/shocks. On the rear you will have to put a coil kit on, but the front is ready to be changed. All you have to do is replace the air shocks with normal shocks with coil springs/helper springs. You can normally find these kits at auto supply stores, but you can also find them online, and possibly eBay. Make sure to shop around before you make a purchase. Your other option is to replace your air bags with lifter shocks. You would run the air lines to a convenient place where you can air them up manually. This would allow you to change the height of the car and the ride of the car. But this will make the "Cadillac ride" become more of a truck feel. Hope this helps you with your decision.

Oil light


If the oil light is on it's one of 2 things: You have no oil pressure, or the sending unit (also known as the oil pressure switch) is defective and is reading no pressure when there actually is normal pressure. You should always assume it means no pressure, because driving it this way will ruin the engine.

lubricate front drive shaft fitting (2500 or 3500 4X4 models only)
check spare tire for proper pressure and correct storage
lubricate outer tie rod ends (2500 or 3500 4X4 models only)
inspect engine air cleaner filter, replace as necessary
