2001 Suzuki Alto

I have a 2001 Suzuki Alto and have noticed that from the negative terminal on the battery the other end is shanging in the Engine bay, There are two wires from the negative terminal, one is connected direct to the car body, the other, a thicker wire is hanging in the Engine bay and was wondering where this was from. I am a complete Novice at car maintenance and all help would be gratfeully received thank you

The thicker negative wire should go to the engine for a ground. You should be able to move the wire around to different points on the engine and you should find where it broke off of the end terminal.

Does the car seem to be "turning over" slower than normal?

The reason the battery went dead, is because of the missing ground wire from the battery to the engine. The alternator is grounded to the engine, therefore it could not recharge the battery.

Let me know how it works out.

lots of ALTO MADE
the k10 engine has many classes.
even VVT
and all that matters
what is your country
what is VIN codes. (shows me what engine is there)

K10a in 2000\
then K10b in 2010

this? quote.:
Maruti Suzuki India launched a new version of the first generation Alto in the Indian auto market in August 2010, the Alto K10.[30] The new Maruti Alto K10 is equipped with the company's 1.0L, K-series petrol engine which also currently powers the Celerio and Wagon R. The K10B engine delivers 68 PS (50 kW) of maximum power at 6,200rpm with 90 N·m (66 lb·ft; 9 kg·m) of maximum torque at 3200 rpm. The K10 has a redesigned front end, with more sculpted headlights. This spelled the end for the F10-engined model, while the F8-engined Alto was replaced by the all new Alto 800 in late 2012. The Alto K10 remained in production until 2014.

Suzuki K6a engine. Turns over but won't start

we dont have this engine in USA< (this forum is USA forum.....)
what year, what car? ?? what country?
the k6a fits many cars, and many years and can be carb or EFI fueled.

the K6a line up, do tell what you are driving....please.
now to answer in GENERIC Mr. Otto Cycle mode. (gas engines)
no spark, check spark.
never tuned up, ever.
low compression, find timing chain slipped or worse.
twin cam 3 cylinder.
with chain drive. if chain is/was quiet, the cam timing should be good. as is compression over 150psi.
if compression is good, and spark good, x3
then it will run on test fuel, does it?
of not clogged melted CAT?

Kia sedona problems starting

Kia Sedona known for electrical grounding problems. Before spending any money, follow thick wires from battery negative terminal to body and to engine block. Disconnect and clean each connection, use oscillating sanding tool and #400 grit to polish the surface where negative wire connects and to polish the terminal end of the wire too. If unable to find a negative battery wire to engine block or transmission, buy one at Walmart $8 and install. You may need to replace your negative battery terminal to accommodate another wire. Most likely by cleaning the grounding or providing an express engine ground, your original electrical problem will have disappeared along with many others you may not have noticed. Be sure to remove and clean both battery terminals and connectors too.

Car wont crank over battery good starter removed and bench tested only get a click from the ecu when ignition turned to on along with some clicking from the engine bay

bad connection from the terminal youll need a battery jumper cable. But first lets try this make sure battery terminal is tight and clean okay next now we are going to find the weak link. Take the negative battery cable and the jumper on negative cable on battery and put the other end of that cable to body ground there we made a better cable ground connection. ck to see if problem solve, If yes correct negative terminal. If no problem in positvie section you need to make sure positive is clean contact.

I HAVE A 2001 AURORA. SEEMS TO HAVE A GROUND PROBLEM SOMEWHERE. HIT A BUMP IN THE ROAD ALL LIGHTS WENT OUT. LOST POWER STEERING THEN THE CAR QUIT. STARTED LATER AND EVERY THING IS FINE. HAVE NOTICED...

clean your battery terminals-lift the rear seat, the battery is under the passenger seat, disconnect the terminals (both), use a wire brush and get the cable lugs shiny on the inside, where they clamp onto the battery terminals. Then clean the battery posts, hoop up the positive cable first, then the negative cable-while you are there, look at the negative cable and make sure it other end is tight and not rusted where it connects to the body.

How to jump off a BMW 325CI

The battery for your car is located in the trunk. There are jumper terminals located under the hood in the front of your car. There is a Red (+) terminal that is under a little black cover on the passenger side of the engine bay near the firewall. Right near that is a silver/gray bolt that is bolted to the frame of the car. This is the negative terminal.

Make sure both cars are and all accessories are off:
1) Connect the Postive cable to the dead battery
2) Connect the Positive cable to the good (BMW) terminal
3) Connect the Negative cable to the good (BMW) terminal
4) Connect the Negative cable to the dead battery
5) Start the BMW. (if you have 2 people then gently rev the engine)
6) Start the dead car.
7) Let both cars idle for a while before disconnecting any cables
8) Remove in the opposite order.
