Question about 1994 Chevrolet Corvette

1 Answer

I have a 1994 Corvette with a 350 standard engine in it. There is a fuel leak on top of the engine at a device where one of the fuel lines come up from under the car. This device also looks like it has a vacuum hose on it. After this device the fuel line travels along the top of the engine and into the distribution line. What is the name of this device that looks like an old vacuum advance from earlier cars?

The motor in my 1979 corvette will turn over but won,t start.I would like to no if it,s the caruretor or the fuel pump. The motor is a 350

So I will assume you have spark, seeing how your questioning whether it's carburetor or fuel pump. With a mechanical fuel pump, the easiest way to check is to disconnect fuel line at carburetor, and aim it in to a pop bottle, or similar container. Remove connector at distributor so no spark.
Crank engine over and see if fuel runs in to bottle, or container. If good flow, pump is o.k.
The proper way would be to hook a vacuum gauge up to inlet of fuel pump and crank engine and note vacuum.

I have changed twice the MAP sensor in Chevy Corvette 1994, but the car continues to run extremely rich

check the vacuum line on the fuel pressure regulator. If there is fuel in it, replace the regulator.

F-350 diesel 92 has fuel leak running between engibe and trans where it coming from

Maybe the fuel filter or fuel line, whenever there is a leak on top of engine, thats where it drains to, so look at the top of the engine for the leak.

I have a 1992 F-350 7.3l diesel truck and it smokes real bad

How many miles on the truck? Replace the air filter.Check all aftercooler lines for air leaks.Check your turbo to be sure the seal is not leaking causing the engine to **** oil thru the turbo. You may need to clean the fuel system.Add 32 oz of Power Service 911 to your fuel. If none of this helps and you have a high mileage truck it may be time to replace the injectors

1999 corvette. Code po442 comes up. Replaced gas

purge valve happens, but it's more on the rare side. The most common you have already fixed. I've seen the cross pipe between the two fuel tanks leak and also the lines on top of either tank and the evap line going from the tank to the engine. Also you should check the vent valve (the more I think about it the more I'd lean tword a vent valve). Now to get to that the car needs to be up in the air. You cannot get to it unless you get it up or you are really really skiny.
Good luck

Vacuum leak, maybe inside brake booster.

Gas smell when starting and small dripage when back up from under engine

It sounds like the return fuel line is leaking. There are two fuel line and one is the high pressure line which goes to the fuel pressure regulator then to the fuel rails. There is then a return line from the fuel rail to the gas tank.
With the amount of fuel leak, it's going to be the return line since it's not that bad compared to the high pressure side. Follow the fuel lines from the drivers side around the steering shaft to the engine. The high side and low side (return) run side by side and you should see it leaking when the engine is running.
Good luck and hope this helps.
