Question about 2006 Mitsubishi Outlander

Open Question

I have a 2006 Mitsubishi Grandis. Something weird is going on. The alarm doesn't activate/deactivate. When I turn on the ignition key to accessory, nothing happens. The internal lights do not work. The central locking does not work. When I turn the igition key to start, it will start the engine OK and I can drive BUT the five door warning lights on the dash are illuminated. The rear door is locked and I cannot open it. The airconditioning works when ignition key is OK. The battery is OK - it starts the engine fine.

Car will not start or even turn over - battery is good and starter is good

Do you have an alarm system? Try activating then inactivating the alarm system. Sometimes the alarm system will disable your ignition. You can also try using the key to unlock the driver door to deactivate. Some cars deactivate different ways once the alarm system disables the ignition.

Why is my '97 Mitsubishi Eclipse alarm going off?

Take off the inside door panel and see if there is something by the lock that activates/deactivates the alarm when you turn the key. Compare the drivers side(L), to the passenger side(R), that works. All mechanical things like to break down over time.

2001 mitsubishi eclispse gs wont start how do you bypass the security system

  • 1 Turn the ignition key counter clockwise in the driver's side door to unlock the caricon1.png. This deactivates the alarm long enough for you to gain access to the vehicle. Then, place the key in the ignition and turn the key until it clicks once. This starts the car's battery, but doesn't ignite the engine. The LED light on the dashboard should stop blinking, indicating the alarm is temporarily disabled.
  • 2 Locateicon1.png the box for the alarm under the dashboard on the driver's side of the car. Then, look for the override button on the box. Typically, the small button is either red or black. With the ignition key in the "on" position, press the override button and hold it in until the alarm chirps once. This disables the alarm until you manually reactivate it.
  • 3 To reactivate the alarm, turn the key to the "on" position and press the override button once. The alarm chirps twice, indicating the alarm is active.

  • Hope this helps!

2004 Hyundai Elantra won't start, emergency flashers keep blinking, can't shut off, lights dim, can't jump start, clicking from under dash from relays. What could it be?

The 'Keyless Entry & Burglar Alarm System" is activated. You must 'Disarm' the system using the Keyless Entry Remove (Key Fob) to "Reset" the system. The reason the engine won't start is due to the burglar alarm - it has a "Starter Kill" circuit which is activated when the alarm is activated. The alarm must be DEactivated to DEactivate the 'Starter Kill' circuit.
Another way to start the engine is to get in the car, put the key in the ignition and turn it to 'ON" and wait 3 to 5 minutes until the emergency flashers stop/turn off. Afterward, you should be able to start the engine. NOTE: This does NOT reset the burglar alarm. It will go off again when you enter the vehicle without using the remote/key fob.

Car alarm doesn't make any sound when activated or deactivated

WHY BOTHER!!!!!, what use are car alarms anyway,...everyone ignores them or yells at you to turn it off because it is waking up the baby at has a fabulous immobiliser anyway, plus you can't start it without the key as the ignition key has a microchip that talks to the car's computer...If all else fails, and you are worried about the contents of your vehicle,...put an angry rattlesnake in your car....

It may start the engine fine, meaning it has a good ground, BUT, the ground from battery to the body is NOT. Make sure that connection is good and clean.
