Ok, first the door ajar light you have a bad door jam switch it is hard to test which one i suggest you take it to a shop, but you can remove the interior light fuse to keep the lights from running the battery down, now to the heater, you state that you have no heat from the heater or defroster vents, I am not sure if you mean no air flow or that you do have air flow but no heat , if its no air flow check for a vacuum leak under the hood it will be a small hard vacuum line coming from the back of the intake manifold, if you mean you have air flow but no heat first check your coolant level if it is ok warm up the engine and check to see if both heater hoses are hot if both are check your blend door adjustment, if one hot and one cold you need a heater core ( a big job and expensive ) if both are luke warm replace thermostat......GOOD LUCK

2003 ford taurus blows cold air out the defrost

Sounds like your hot/cold door is stuck on cold. Is the heat not hot either? If so that could be it. Perhaps your heater core. Good luck.

2001 ford taurus no heat

Everything inside the car for heat and AS is vacuum actuated blend doors. You apparently have lost vacuum to the control levers. Check all vacuum lines in the engine compartment for pulled loose or cracked and broken hoses. Better yet, find the black vacuum canister (it's like a round ball about 4 inches in diameter and with the engine running, pull the hose off of it to see if you have vacuum on that line. Other hose goes in under dash to the gang connection on the back of the controls. If no vacuum on the line to the canister, it's not connected to the engine. Hook it up till you have vacuum to the canister. Should be fine now, unless the line is off under dash. Have faith in yourself friend, you'll find the vacuum leak.

2001 Ford Taurus No Heat I am having trouble with

possibly the bled door is stuck open so only the cold air from a/c works when on defrost vs closing to allow heat to cycle through the system as defrost runs through the a/c system

Getting no heat in 2001 ford taurus. Changed thermostat 3 times over a period of time. Flushed radiator plus had the heater core back flushed twice. After the 1st back flush, we had heat for a mile. temp...

If both heater hoses are getting hot, the problem could be a stuck blend door under the dash.
If only one hose is getting hot, there is a blockage in the coolant flow somewhere.

My 2001 ford Taurus heating temp gauge is not constant on dashboard. It goes up and down. I don?t have heat. Water pump, thermostat, in and out pipe and coolant are changed. Still no heat.

Start the engine when cool, remove rad cap and start engine and let it run with the heater on. (not defrost) Top up coolant as needed in rad, and let it run until either the rad fan comes on and off 2 or 3 times, or you can see increased flow in rad from thermostat opening. It will obviously happen after it reaches operating temperature, so watch after gauge gets close to there. Wait until you see that flow 2 or 3 times or fan comes on and off before you put cap on, and fill return bottle to proper level as well. That should cure it, by getting air out of system, and coolant flowing through heater core.
