Question about 2004 Volvo V70

1 Answer

Power window The passenger side window has come off its track. The window collapsed and does not move properly up and down. We tried to fix it but cannot get the door panel off. Even if we manage to get the panel off, is this something that could be fixed at home?

I had asked if you can solve the problem with the door panel and/or power window. Let me know if you can. Thanks.

The question is if it is stuck or there are problems with electricity. In first case, you will need to take the panel off anyway.
"For the front doors, there are two torx screws that are hidden behind the door pull. The door pull is the long vertical bar that you grasp to pull the door closed. Take a very small standard screwdriver and pry the cover off, starting at the bottom. Once it begins to come off at the bottom, you can pull it straight off exposing the two torx screws. There is one at the bottom and one at the top. Pop off the triangular side view mirror covers above and to the right of the door panel."

The power window on passenger side of a 2007 honda element has quit working. The window is stuck halfway. I have taken off the door panel. How do you free the window so that you can slide the window?

Take the drive motor for this window out. push the glass to the top. if it will not move, the window is stuck in the track or it is out of the track, if this is the problem, re-install the window inside the track. check both tracks to make sure one is not loose, causing a bind. if this is the case, tighten the track and retry the window, up and down. be sure to keep your hand under the window to avoid it slamming down causing a possible break. push the window to the top. it is best if you have someone hold it in place. re-install the motor and try the window out. if it works then you have fixed the problem, (try it several times to be sure it will stay fixed) if it jams again, i would say you have a bad motor. you might also check the switch to be sure it is operating properly. this is best checked with a multimeter if you have one, or know someone who does, and if you know how to use it. right now i am betting on the window being partially out of the track. good luck and i hope this solves your problem.

2006 chrysler 300 drivers window not working properly. Window only moves (up or down) a couple of inches at a time. Tried to recal..no help.

Try silicone spray down tracks/felt on both sides. Be generous and let it run down the track . It may be an easy fix, and cheap to try.

You probably need a part called a window regulator. They are put in by glass shops and can be installed while you wait. It is a part you get at a Dealership, sometimes parts stores.

You get into hidden screws and attaching parts and by the time you order anything a glass shop can do it faster.

I had several small C clamps and wood and managed to move my fallen window back into place until the correct part arrived. You would need to place the clamp and wood on a frame piece inside the door. But realize that some of the shock and vibration protections are gone with this improvised method.

Rear window slipping down about 1 inch, but still on the track.

The Regulator will fix the problem. The tracks might also need a little adjustment.(loosen bolts move track then retighten) Try holding the window while you are rasing it you might be able to guide it up so that it will close a bit more.

if the motor is working fine and i could be some rivits missing that hold your track up and in place for the window to operated properly check that see if there is any broken pieces lying in the bottom of your door.
