Question about 2001 Jeep Cherokee

1 Answer

I have a 2001 jeep cherokee sport and I need to know what fuse controls the front wipers/washers. Everyone keeps telling me that it's #30, but I only have 27 fuses. I checked my owners manual, my Chilton's manual, and my Hayne's manual. None have any detailed information on fuses.I have already dropped $20 on a new washer pump, and that was not the problem, so it must be a fuse. I need to know which one, please.

Some of the jeeps had issue with the wiper motor and or washers losing ground to the motor.
try running a ground wire from battery and hooking it to the metal case of the wiper motor.

The power distribution box in the engine compartment # 6 , 30 amp mini - fuse , front wiper motor , front wiper relay , front washer pump , FEM ( also # 7 , 25 amp mini - fuse , rear wiper etc. ) The owners manual shows to disconnect your battery cables before servicing anything in the PD BOX

your relay could be shorted which makes the fuse keep blowing

1998 Jeep Cheroke(4 door): front windshield washer does not function ... could it be aa electrical problem, bad fuse? Need to know where the fuse for the pump is located so I can check that first before...

Hi Ins,

No need to take apart the reservoir just yet. You'll see two pumps attached to the reservoir, one front, one rear.

Just switch the plugs. Then try the rear washer switch, it should spray up front. That will tell you if the pump is bad or not.

The fuses for the wipers and the pumps are under the drivers dash, left kick panel.

Best regards,
Mike

No front washer sprayer, fuse good,  2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport

Bad washer pump. Take the tank out with the motor in it and put 12v to it. It will either pump or not.

I have a 2000 cherokee sport the wipers, front & rear, work but the washers dont,is there a fuse? where do I find it?

You either have a bad switch, or bad washer motors. You will need a test light at minimum, and a helper. Remove the plug from the washer pump, and have your helper push the wash button while you look for power.

What fuse controls the windshield washer pump? on a 2001 Jeep Che

usually it's in the washer bottle which is usually in the fender well, ahrd to get to.
The fuse that controls it should be listed in your owners manual. Usually a 10 amp fuse in the fuse panel inside the car usually on the instrument panel somewhere.

2000 Jeep Cherokee Windshield Washer

You have a motor for the front and rear washer. Check the fuses. If the intermitted wipers does not work, there is a relay under the dash near the steering colum that needs to be replaced.
