We removed insulation from crawl space rafters. We now have a squeak on the main floor that was not there before.

You have a floor board(s) not firmly attached to floor joists below. Insulation previously muffled the sound and/or filled the gap.

Eliminate the gap either by filling it in with a shin or by screwing the two together to eliminate the gap. Find the right spot by going into crawl space and having someone step on squeaky board above - approximately at the midpoint of the squeaky zone should be the biggest gap.

If screwing, use a drywall screw from below to pull the floor board back in contact with joist.

You way find you may need to do 2 or more spots to totally eliminate the squeaks.

Good luck.

Squeaky noises under the hood

IT COULD BE AN IDLER, TENSIONER, OR THE BELT SLIPPING, THESE ARE SEALED YOU CAN'T LUBE THEM. IT SOUNDS LIKE THE BELT IS SLIPPING, BUT IT COULD BE SLIPPING BECAUSE OF A FAULTY IDLER\TENSIONER. REMOVE THE BELT, MAKE SURE ENGINE IS SHUT OFF, AND YOU HAVE THE KEYS, ROTATE ALL THE PULLEY'S AND THE ALTERNATOR PULLEY THEY SHOULD ROTATE FREELY AND RUN TRUE, AND NO ROUGH FEEL TO THEM, OR THE TENSION COULD BE TOO WEEK TO KEEP THE BELT TIGHT.

Squeaky engine

Squeaks or Squeals. If it squeals then you should check all of the drive belts on the engine for tension.

Squeaky clutch pedal

This is a common problem. Your clutch pedal has a return spring on it, each end of which can squeak when dry.
Look under the dash, and locate this. Dab a bit of grease at each end of the spring where it hooks around. Work the pedal up and down a few times and the squeak should go the way of the Honda Element.

97 plymouth vourger new belt still squeeks

It sounds like one of your pulleys may be having bearing issues, one way to check this is to go to the parts store and buy some "belt dressing" it is a spray that stops belt squeak. Find a safe spot where you can spray the belt while its moving and only spray the belt. If the belt stops squeaking its just a squeaky belt. If it keeps squeaking then you may have one of your pulleys going bad.

Sometimes pulleys will squeak too if they are just not very lubricated. If the belt dressing works you are good to go, if it doesn't work, go ahead and give the belt area a good spray down avoiding your electrical components. Thanks.

MOST LIKELY THE FRONT AND REAR SWAY BAR RUBBER BUSHINGS ARE THE SOURCE OF THE PROBLEM, ALSO THE FRONT LOWER STRUTS CAN BE NOISY AS WELL.
