Bummer. Lots of white smoke is an indication of coolant getting into the combustion chamber. Most common issue is a warped or cracked head. Many mechanincs say head gasket, but the gasket is the VICTIM and not the cause. If it is determened that the head gasket has failed, and the head is not resurfaced, failure will happen again real soon.

White smoke comes from tailpies while excelling traffic light.

Is it a lot of white smoke? White/Gray Smoke: White exhaust smoke is an indication that coolant is burning in the combustion chamber. These are possible causes:
Cylinder Head: A crack in the cylinder head (around the coolant jacket) will cause coolant to enter the combustion chamber.

Although for some cars white smoke is normal, as long as it is not super excessive.

White smoke from exhaust

That is normal, condensation. Check your coolant level and make sure smoke doesnt smell like coolant. If it is coolant then it is a blown headgasket. Have a repair shop do a quick test.

White smoke and engine cutting out

It sounds like the cylinder head gasket, or even a cracked head. You must go back to the repair shop.

White smoke is not good. But it may not be what white smoke typically is, which is coolant leaking into combustion chamber... but rather a backfire dislodging exhaust particles.

Get the error codes read and you will be able to know where to go next.

white smoke is water ,suspect head gasket but it could be inlet manifold gasket as well if water heated ,it could also be brake fluid via servo unit ,but diesels have a vacumn pump so if its diesel ignore that one .
