The location of TPS is to the left air filter / intake duct which attaches to the throttle body. You will see a small rectangular black box ON the throttle body with a couple of wires coming out of it. That is throttle position sensor (TPS). -------This will help.thanks.Helpmech.

2000 Ford Taurus will not dexcelerate when foot leaves throttle

There are several springs in the system. The throttle cable, and the airhorn shaft should be spring loaded and the position sensor should be attached correctly. The position sensor has a notch which is where the butterfly throttle shaft is inserted.

You can detach the throttle cable and check for binding. You want smooth movement. Then see where the remaining parts are binding.

After checking this, and on certain engines, there are manifold runners which are moving parts and have actuators. In short, the intake manifold runners can soot up and jam. Find Web articles about this runner problem.

Throttle pedal position sensor "A" circuit low input

Sounds like the Throttle Plate is sticking

You were fooled into changing the TPS because of the code

Not the way you diagnose vehicle issues

You find out why a sensor--- good or bad set the code

Get some CRC Throttle Body Cleaner & follow the instructions

Don't need much sprayed around the throttle plate

Then have someone step on gas pedal to confirm success

May need the key on

Your low input is the throttle not returning to home position

Almost like the sensor was telling you what was wrong

Fun stuff isn't it & not easy to understand

How to clean my 2001 Taurus throttle position sensor

The throttle position sensor itself is sealed up and can't be cleaned. Might it be the Mass Airflow Sensor or Throttle plates you are refering too?

How hard is it to change a throttle position sensor on a 1990 Ford Taurus GL 3.0 L V6?

This actually shouldn't be too terribly difficult. If you look where the throttle body is, where the throttle cable connects, you'll see a part directly across from it. It'll have two screws holding it in. That is the throttle position sensor. Simply remove the two screws and the wiring harness attaching to it and then attach the wiring harness to the new one, carefully lining it up correctly, so the blade fits nicely into it. Tighten the screws so they're snug, but don't over-torque them, as you could crack the housing of the sensor. Then that's it! :) You might have to remove a couple of small things for ease of getting at the sensor, but overall, this job shouldn't take you too long.

I hope this helps! :)

Where is the camshaft sensor located on a 1999 ford taurus

Please follow the Instruction below.

1.Disconnect the ground battery cable using a wrench to hold the terminal bolt in place as you loosen the retaining nut with another wrench.

2. Locate the accelerator cable next to the throttle assembly towards the back and top of the engine and remove the shield. Pull the retaining pins using a pair of slip joint pliers if necessary

Remove any other accessories that might interfere with the removal of the camshaft sensor like wiring harness, spark plug retainers or engine cover, depending on your particular model.

4. Move the fuel-injectors wiring harness off the valve cover studs as well to gain access to the camshaft sensor if necessary.

Locate the camshaft sensor around the top of the engine. For more information please click the link below.

6. Unplug the camshaft-sensor electrical connector by pressing on the lock tab and pulling the plastic connector off the sensor.

7. Unfasten the two sensor mounting screws using a Phillips screwdriver and remove the sensor from the engine compartment.

Hope this help
