Sounds like the battery isnt accepting a charge. Try a new battery

How do I set the settings on my NAPA automatic starter/charger to charge my battery in the car or to try to use it to quick start the car battery? Both ways to set the starter/charger would be helpfu

Put it on medium or the quick charge. If it has a start or boost on it put it on that and try to start the car. Do not leave it on a high rate (start or boost)for long periods or the battery could explode.

Loud clicking sound when i try to tunr it over

boost, hummmmm ?????????????
a charger with a boost button? (big shops have this)
or you mean jumper cable , jump started from a running other car?

my wild guess. is you always start fine, when jumper cable jumped.
this proves, the
battery in your car is BAD or is only discharged.
for 100 years now, same deal.
try a fresh battery off a good car.
works now, so ??? yours is weak or bad!

but started car , is the voltage 13.3. to 15v? a walfart $10 meter.?
no , then the charge system is bad (charge lamp on?)
note, i said system. not a specific part.

if the charge system is failing.?
  1. bad battery. tha'ts right alts do shut down with battery bad. (open or shorted battery)
  2. loose alternator pulley belt.?
  3. bad alternator wires. connections.? or bad battery cables.?
  4. scan the PCM most 2007 will report what is wrong with voltages and charge. scan it.
engine rpm way below normal at idle 800 is typ. good. 400 dead wrong.
battery cables bad.
battey cables lugs green with corrosion
someone put the minus cable far end to the wrong part>?
this minus cable has correct spot near the starter.
some fit to block others to stater , bolt or bell blots.
to frame is wrong, seen that , with lazy work.

2001 Jetta TDI Battery drain??

If you suspect the alternator, disconnect the 12V line coming directly from the battery and check for current drain. Are you sure the current unit is in ampere (A) and not milliampere (mA)? A 5A current will drain your battery in about an hour. A 5mA current is just about normal considering the parasitic load (radio memory chip, clock, ECM memory circuit, etc.). Try checking your battery. It could be the real culprit.

I have a 1995 safari van charged battery and took it off charger it then wouln;t start so i boosted it, then started took it for a drive and then shut it off it wouldnt start whats wrong with it?

May have a bad starter solenoid and the extra boost is whats needed to get it to work.
May also have a dead cell in the battery. Use a multi meter and test the battery. Should have about 12.6 volts. 12 volts would not be a full charge. May even want to take the battery to a parts store and have it tested unless you have a tester to check the amps.

What is the boost pressure to max at on 2001 TDI & also a 1995 TD

My 2002 TDI under full throttle would peg to a lazy 13psi, then wander down.

After a computer re-map and a little tweak I'm pegging 23psi, and 18psi constant under full pedal. Fun factor increased by x10

I left my car running over night now the car wont even crank im not sure if it is the battery or what but when i try to jump start it the light come on but it still doesnt start do u know what is wrong

Was the car still running when you got up? If not, then the battery went dead. This may have been the last hurray for the battery. Remove the battery cables and clean them. Fully charge the battery with a charger and if it still will not start the engine, remove the battery and have it tested.
