THIS DOES NOT HAVE A FUEL RAIL OLD STYLE THROTTLE BODY INTERNAL FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR

I just started having the same problem. It was running fine and just died basicaly. I pump the gas petal and it will go about 10 mph.

same problem. only happens when engine is hot, then I go to restart before it cools down. I can always get it started, but it requires furious pedal fluttering. It's tricky to work up the RPM's, but once it red-lines, it like it clears its throat and starts running fine again. did it all last summer and went away for the winter. now it is starting to happen again.

Drive this thing until hot and when you shut it off, open the hood and find the vacuum hose that goes to the fuel pressure regulator. It will be on the drivers side of engine on the fuel rail. It's a little round vacuum diaphragm with a hose to it. Pull this hose off and see if gas leaks out the little nipple of the regulator. I'll bet it's leaking and what is happening is that it's flooding out the engine after it's off for an hour or more. These are fairly easy to replace since they are on the outside of plenum. Just be VERY careful as to look at the new one before removing the old one. Check location of the retainer clip, if it is not on right the regulator can pop out and you will have a major leak!!! Also be sure to remove the old O-ring and screen from the rail, they tend to stay in there when you pull the regulator off. You won't be able to get new one in if old parts are left in the rail.

When my truck is cold,it starts like every other truck out there. When my truck is warm,it has a really hard time starting. It doesnt start unless I put my throttle to the floor. Its a throttle body

What it sounds like is the fuel pressure regulator has gone
bad. It is located on the intake manifold inline with the fuel
line going to the throttle body. This little regulator has a single
vacuum line going to it. Most parts stores carry them in stock.
I hope this has helped.

I have a 92 chevy c1500,new fuel pump and filter but truck is hard 2 start.if i pour gas in throttle body bowl it starts right up. what could b the problem?

Sounds like the injector is not supplying the proper amount of fuel. Try unpluging the TPS first and then the IAC motor, both located on the trottle body.

91 s10 with 4.3 very hard starting cold or hot,if i give it a squirt of fuel down the throttle body it starts right away.Have replace fuel filter, fuel pump, and plugs.

When you replaced the pump, did you replace the hose between the pump and the sending unit? Check the fuel pressure. It should be 11-13 psi.

My 2002 GMC Denali XL doesn't like to start on the first crank (especially in warm weather). Typically it starts on the second crank. I have cleaned the throttle body valve, MAF, replaced the battery and...

the fuel filter would be the first place i would go, especially if it has not been replaced recently. it can cause slow priming of the fuel pump, resulting in hard starting. in addition, if your truck has never been tuned up, a set of spark plugs could make the world of difference - i believe on your particular truck it is recommended to change them at least every 100,000 M. good luck!

Truck cranks but won't start

Check the fuel line it may have a small hole that is allowing air in. If air is getting into the line the fuel will flow back into the tank. Happend to me one day and it turned out to be the clamp.

97 jimmy wont start

If it starts with starting fluid, this means the firing and electrical is fine, however, its not getting fuel. I suggest trying the fuel filter first, but, its probably going to be the fuel pump.
