there are lines that go to your transmission to the side of the radiator maybe one of the are bad

1999 Chevrolet Malibu 3.1L SFI OHV 6cyl the Flasher is located: Center of the instrument panel, right of steering column.

The thermostat for this model is located underneath the throttle cable assembly, behind the exhaust manifold.

First locate it and get a wrench and unscrew it from the exhaust pipe and unplug it from the wiring harness and re-install the same way.

Follow the positive battery cable down to the starter.

Did you get the computer replace somewhere or did you do it ? Was it programmed? If it wasn't programmed you will have to get a gm dealer to re-program/flash computer

If the check engine light is on, I would take the car to an autoparts store and have them scan the computer for fault codes. Most parts stores will do the scan for free. It sounds like it could be a faulty idle air control valve, but getting the codes should end speculation and identify the faults that the computer has noted. Hope this helped and best wishes.

if you have changed the plugs and wires you need to do a cylinder balancetest and find out what cylinder is missing after you find out what cylinder is bad check compression if it is over 100 check your injector
