For around $20 US, you can get a complete aftermarket manual from Haynes or Chilton at most parts stores.

Why doesn't the heat come on in my 2005 Chevy Silverado heat unless engine is running above 1200rpm ?

educated guess is that you have an air lock in the cooling system and the heat is only apparent when the high rpms push the water into the heater core
find the highest point a undo the hose and let any air out ( cool engine only as the water may be hot)

Wiring Diagram of the heating and cooling system... The heating and cool control panel has stopped working. It seems to have no power getting to control panel. Any idea's?

Hi, the correct diagram depends on whether you have automatic or manual controls. There are additional diagrams available with higher resolution if you go to autozone.com and sign up for a free account. The diagrams are here: http://www.autozone.com/autozone/repairinfo/repairguide/repairGuideContent.jsp?pageId=0996b43f8036f55f

Please let me know if you have questions about troubleshooting the system.

How do you change the cabin air filter for a 2002 silverado, 2 wheel drive, with 4.8 l engine? There is probably a mouse nest in the system that is causing my heating/cooling system to not push out much...

it's located under the dash in front of the passenger seat, you'll need a 7mm and 8mm socket if memory serves. but pull the plastic cover off should be 6 bolt's. then you'll uncover the cabin air filter cover it's one bolt pop it off and undo the clip. you should know what to do from there =)

2002 silverado over heats when I have the plow on I have 4 trucks none with this problem . when the truck gets hot the top radiator hose is gets rock hard until undo the cap and then the truck instantly...

with the truck running feel your top hose and bottom hose see if they are both the same temp. Actually your top hose should have pressure on it. If the hoses aren't the same temp you have a circulation problem. If they are check yourr fan clutch. See if its spinning fast enough.

I smell coolant when I turn on the heater in my 2001 Silverado. The heater will not get hot.

Your heater core is clogged, leaking, and/or going bad. If it was anything else in the cooling/heating system, you would not have the antifreeze odor. The heater core is located under the glove box. I hope this helps and good luck.
