if you have a leak from the back of the rack your sector shaft seal is defective. to replace it you need to remove the rack and do it on the bench.remove the locking nut and pull the seal from inside.if you are a rooky replace the rack with a rebuild one. good luck.

Yes you can replace the steering rack rubber boots OK.
But if you are loosing fluid, it sounds like the internal seals are leaking, allowing the fluid to fill up these boots, and subsequently bursting them, so you will be back to square one.
Better to fit an exchange steering rack !

loose belt or they didn't bleed all the air out of the system. check the level of the power steering fluid... now start the motor and turn the wheel all the way to the right till you go as far as you can... give it a few seconds like that... not shut off the motor... check the level of the fluid... top it up if you need to... now repeat that method again but to the left. that should bleed out the air
